/India PRwire/ - As we all know that India is famous for its low cost medical treatments and world class medical healthcare facilities. International patients who are suffering from mastectomy and can’t afford the high cost of the mastectomy surgery in their country are wishing to have their mastectomy in India due to its low cost. Surgery of breast cancer is called as mastectomy. The breast is composed of mainly fatty tissue. Within this tissue is a network of lobes, which are made up of tiny, tube-like structures called lobules that contain milk glands. Tiny ducts connect the glands, lobules, and lobes and carry the milk from the lobes to the nipple, located in the middle of the areola (darker area that surrounds the nipple of the breast). About 90% of all breast cancers originate in the ducts or lobes. Almost 75% of all breast cancers begin in the cells lining the milk ducts and are called ductal carcinomas. Indian hospitals are arousing the interest of the international patients for undergoing their mastectomy in India at some of the finest hospitals at Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Goa by the best surgeons trained from all over the world.

There are several types of mastectomy procedures:

total (or simple) mastectomy: removal of the entire breast, including the nipple, the areola, and most of the overlying skin. In addition, some of the lymph nodes under the arm, also called the axillary lymph glands, may be removed. The bean-shaped lymph nodes under the arm drain the lymphatic vessels from the upper arms, the majority of the breast, the neck, and the underarm regions. Often, breast cancer spreads to these lymph nodes, thereby entering the lymphatic system andallowing the cancer to spread to other parts of the body.

modified radical mastectomy: removal of the entire breast, including the nipple, the areola, the overlying skin, some of the lymph nodes under the arm, and the lining over the chest muscles. In some cases, part of the chest wall muscle is also removed.

radical mastectomy: removal of the entire breast, including the nipple, the areola, the overlying skin, the lymph nodes under the arm, and the chest muscles. For many years, this was the standard operation. However, today a radical mastectomy is rarely performed and is generally only recommended when the breast cancer has spread to the chest muscles.

Risk Factors

A risk factor is anything that increases a person's chance of developing a disease, including cancer. There are risk factors that can be controlled, such as smoking, and risk factors that cannot be controlled, such as age and family history. Although risk factors can influence disease, they do not necessarily cause cancer. Some people with several risk factors never develop the disease, while others with no known risk factors do. Knowing your risk factors and communicating with your doctor can help guide you in making wise lifestyle and health-care choices. Many cases of breast cancer occur in women with no obvious risk factors. This means that women need to be aware of possible changes in their breasts, perform self-examinations, and schedule clinical breast examinations and mammograms. It is likely that multiple risk factors influence the development of breast cancer. The following factors can raise a person's risk of developing breast cancer.

Health Tourism India acclaimed healthcare referral company providing superior surgical treatment for mastectomy through established relationships with finest medical doctors and facilities in India. India makes continuous efforts to help patients receive world-class medical treatments at considerably lower costs and in almost zero waiting periods. In a short span of time, India has successfully contributed to the well-being of a large number of patients from all part of the world. India understands the importance of reliability and dependability. Indian hospitals work hard to gain patients' confidence. Thus Indian hospitals had adopted strict quality control checks at different aspects of our services. The hospitals are selected on a number of parameters including experience in specific healthcare segments, panel of doctors, certifications, infrastructural base and past records. The panel of consultants and surgeons are highly trained and experts in their fields. Most of the doctors have graduated from top US & UK universities and have vast experience in the critical surgeries and procedures they perform.
/India PRwire/ -
Sanjivani Kapur was a brand manager on the fast-track at a top FMCG company till her doctor confirmed her pregnancy. Soon maternity leave led to extended maternity leave and finally she chose to stay at home and look after her child, giving up her job and career. Now four years down the line, with her kid in school, she would like to return to the corporate world again. Now, how does she go about it? Whom does she contact?

Questions like these which stare in the face of many Indian career-seeking women made JobStreet.com & PepsiCo think of a platform where women like Sanjivani could conveniently find a suitable job. Women are considered to be good at multitasking and innovative thinking, apart from being stable and dedicated employees. Also, companies are willing to offer suitable work conditions which allow women to join back the work force with their work-life balance intact!

JobStreet.com is also in discussions with other aware and concerned clients who are keen to deploy Diversity initiatives in India. Successful collaboration with some of these will definitely add to momentum of this movement.

Given the socio-economic relevance at a larger level of this program, the first campaign by JobStreet.com with PepsiCo attracted significant media attention and was covered by leading dailies including the The Economic Times, Mint & Hindustan Times.

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

About Jobstreet.com (http://in.jobstreet.com/)

Launched in 1995, JobStreet.com is among the oldest job portals world-over, and has grown to become one of the leading Internet Recruitment websites in the Asia-Pacific region, revolutionizing the way recruitment is done today.

Besides the job portal, JobStreet.com also offers a comprehensive Recruitment Automation solution, offered as a hosted service.

/India PRwire/ - "A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine." - Anthelme Brillat Savarin

Sipping wine has come of age in India, and according to a survey, women would be powering the growth in wine sales in the coming years.

Appreciating the contribution of women, Nashik-based N D Wines Pvt. Ltd organized a competition especially for women where judge was Mrs. Renu Gupta, an experienced chef of renowned Hotel from London “ Namaste”. The fête named “Cooking with N D Wine” is a wine festival with cookery for the Delhi women. The competition was exclusively for the women who showed their talent in various recipes and dishes containing ND Wines as one of the ingredient at New Friends Club.

Winners of the cooking competition were Muskan who cooked Chicken don pedro, Seema cooked Steamed asparagus with herb sebayan & Aarti made Seared scallops with white wine sauce. They won microwave & ND Wines gift hamper; I pod & ND Wines gift hamper and mixer/juicer& ND Wines gift hamper respectively. Other participants got ND Wines bottles as a constellation prizes.

Muskan first prize winner said, “She enjoyed the contest and could see how entering contests like this can become addictive.”

Aarti second prize winner said, “I won this prize because I am updated with current food trends. To help with this, I subscribe to many cook books.”

Seema who took home 3rd prize said, “I think about the foods I like to cook regularly and how I can make them better or more unique.”

Wine has been deliciously used to flavor food since ages. The Greek & Romans used wines to add a unique edge to otherwise ordinary dishes. Once Rabelias Gargantua said, “The smell of wine, oh how much more delicate, cheerful, gratifying, celestial and delicious it is than that of oil.” May be that is the reason why some people use wine in dine.

There can be no doubt that Indian wines have of come of age. And that we are a fairly young wine-drinking nation. According to a survey by a business daily - with about one-fourth of the country’s growth in alcohol sales till 2015 slated to come from women, out of the 80 million people in the country, who drink alcoholic beverages women, constitutes 10%, which is likely to increase by at least 15-20%.

Mrs. Renu Gupta, judge and chef from Namaste hotel, London congratulating the winners said, “such kind of competitions should be organized more often everywhere in India.” She also gave an advice to the other people who were interested in entering ND wines Cooking contests, “Don't give up and don't get discouraged. Just keep entering and trying. If you love wine based food, just keep creating things, and start with the Wine foods you enjoy most.”

N D Wines Pvt. Ltd will also launch wines like N D Sparkling by July or August this year that is especially for women. “We are introducing N D Chenin Blanc, a sweeter wine especially for women, with new packaging and new label. We are going to organize cooking competitions at various clubs in Delhi wherein the woman participants and the winners would be given wines,” R K Parihar, marketing head, N D Wines said.

Wine in cooking is probably as old as wine drinking. It is a great way to use leftover drinking wine and was for years considered the perfect ingredient to not only improve the flavor of a dish but also to tenderize meat and almost "disinfect" it. It was generally used in France, Italy and Spain to marinate meats in summer — so that they would last all winter. But today even Indian chefs use wine in their cuisines to get the maximum taste.

Mr. Ashish Dabbas Area Manager N.D. Wines says, “The objective of this cookery competition is to revolutionize the wine culture in India. N.D. Wine’s products are developed keeping Indian palate in mind. N.D. Wines is all prepared to set the souk on fire and to make N.D. wines a household name not nationally but internationally too.”

A research finds that drinking wine, but not beer or spirits, keeps women's hearts healthy. Much of the research on the potential health benefits of alcohol has been done, and it is clear that moderate amounts of wine seems to be good for heart health, according to the science daily. Women exactly know how & where to use to place a thing suitably, Dine with Wine is the best way to be healthy.

N. D Grapes, the first company to get the distinction of single largest exporter of India, is regular and sole supplier to J. Sainbury, Tesco and Mark’s & Spencer’s. It supplies much of the grapes and wine to better-known producers. Today N.D. wines has a strong hold in major states across India like Maharashta, Goa, Diu, Daman, Silvassa, Rajasthan, U. P, Chandigarh, Karnatka, M. P etc. It’s served in best of hotels but even served in the prestigious and luxurious trains like The Deccan Odyssey: promoted by Maharashtra government and Palace on wheels promoted by Rajasthan government. Not only has this growing wine culture in India leaded them to increase their productivity from 5.5 lacs of bottles to 8.75 lacs of bottles in coming year.

The mounting demand of wine in bourgeois society has escorted them to come up with an exclusive Syrah, Galaxy, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc.

Syrah – It has a color of the royal insignia, deep purple. The strong aroma of bell peppers blends well with soft aroma of cherries and blackcurrants. Its velvety taste with a distinct peppery flavor lingers into mouth.

Galaxy – Made from Cabernet Sauvignon comes in striking deep red color.

/India PRwire/ - Mrs. Neera Shastri, noted women activist, National BJP Leader & daughter-in-law of Ex-Prime Minister of India Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri and 5 Poets of international repute released Gireesh Sharma's book - 'How to Win Heart of Your Wife'.

In a program organized at Gandhi Peace Foundation, Mrs. Neera Shastri, and 5 poets namely, Kavi Mahendra Ajanabi, Kaviyitri Dr. Madhu Mohini, Kavi Deepak Gupta, Kavi Chetan Anand and Kavi Krishan Kant Madhur released the book - "How to Win Heart of Your Wife". Click here to read the book.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Neera Shastri, expressed her thoughts on the conditions of women in India. She started her speech attacking the foeticide, "Female is the originator of the society, she is the developer and the power of the mankind. Unfortunately, at many places she is killed even before her birth, in the womb of her mother." She added, "In almost 85% of the cases, women have to face biased attitudes at their homes both before and after the marriage. After marriage, the treatment to women is not fair and they are bound in many social restrictions. On the other hand there are no restriction on men in the society."

She also attacked on the dual upbringing standards for boys and girls, "Boys are offered much more opportunities than girl, in education and self development. On one hand development of girls is supressed, and on other hand she is expected to do excellent tasks. She is supposed to take care of everything, display patience, multi-task. Nobody asks a water of glass from boys, but everybody expects a girl to learn household chores as soon as possible. "

Commenting on the condition of working women in society she said, "Working women have double responsibilities and a very tough life. When she is back from office, nobody cares whether she is tired or exhausted, all expects that she should complete all house chores before going to bed. All this is expected from her without even expressing her displeasure."

Appreciating the book and the author, she said, "It is nice that Mr. Gireesh has researched this topic throughly, and come out with a book, that opposes bad practices against women at home, and propogates a positive thought among husbands to take care of their wives. After marriage, a girl is given many advices from her mother, to make adjustments at home. While to a son, mother always teaches machismo. I am sure this book will hit the market and be appreciated by husbands and they would learn how to better respect and love their wives."

Further, she quoted a few chapters from the book which she liked personally. She said chapter 1. Women in Indian Society, chapter 2. Wife - Big Hearts, Small Dreams, Chapter 4. Tender Wives - Tough Life and chapter 4. Sweet Home: A No Smoking No Alcohol Zone are very good and explains how to build a strong foundation of married life. She further appreciated the chapter titled 'Thank You in-laws for such a Wonder Full Wife' for suggesting a husband to pay due respect to his in-laws as much as he expects from his wife to respect his parents.

The program was followed by a Hasya Kavi Sammelan themed 'Dil Se'. Deepak Gupta, the poet of international repute hosted the 'Kavi Sammelan'. Praising the cover of the book, he said that the colour of heart is red, but author has designed it pink, because it is the colour of his wife's saree. This shows that he truly loves his wife. Reciting a poem on an alcoholic husband and his wife, he said:

"Khane-Peene main, main apnee patni ka saath is tarah nibhata hoon, Woh khana khatee hai, aur main 'pee ke' aata hoon.

Kaviytri Madhu Mohini commented on the attires and vulgar ways of TV and film heroines. She humorously said that, she has a lot of respect for these new 'divas' for the honor they have brought to the country. She recited the poem satiring the TV media:

"Man likhne ki chaah karta bahut hai, kintu likhne ke layak nahi kuch dikhta,
TV beti betiyon ke sang dekhna jo chanhoon, TV bhai-bahnon ke sang dekhna jo chanhoon,
TV parivaar ke sang dekhna jo chahoon, Dekhne ke layak nahin hai kuch dikhta.
Sabhyata aur sanskriti ki dhajjiyan uda rahee jo, lakshya ki chahn main charitra nahin dikhta.

And she dedicated these line especially for Rakshi Sawant and Mallika Sehrawat:

"Aisi Dropadi ka cheer kaise badhayenge krishna,
Jo dropadi ke angoon par cheer nahin dikhta."

Audience listening to Kavi Sammelan.
Other noted poets Kavi Mahendra Ajnabi, Kavi Chetan Anand also enthralled the audience.

After the release, journalists from UNI, Amar Ujala, Metro Now, Dainik Jagaran and Times Group interviewed the author and his wife Akanksha Bharadwaj. Facelift surgery is carried out to reverse the sign of aging on the face and neck, namely wrinkling and sagging of the skin, presence of deep crease on either side of the mouth (nasolabial fold) and fat deposit especially around the jaw line.Blood tests are required prior to the surgery. Additional tests such as x-ray, cardiogram, physician check-up etc may be required depending on your health status. These tests are carried out for your safety. The incision (cut) is started in the hairline just above the ear, continues in the crease in front of the ear and extends behind the ear. The skin of the face is then lifted off the deeper tissue, pulled back and the excess trimmed. The deeper layer of face can also be tightened at the same time by trimming off the excess fat, as is done for the skin. Additional maneuvers are done in some individuals to further refine the result of face lift surgery. Liposuction in the neck area defines the jaw line. Bands in the neck are de-emphasized by stitching the muscle in the midline. Once at home you will be allowed to shower and shampoo your hair. You will be prescribed antibiotic ointment to be applied to the stitch line. Light activity can be resumed immediately. However heavy activities such as gymnasium, swimming etc can be started only after 4 weeks. The stitches will be removed after 5 to 7 days.

/India PRwire/ - Indusladies.com (www.indusladies.com), announced today that it has become the #1 online destination for Indian Ladies based on the popular Alexa web rankings. Indusladies.com has surpassed more popular websites like sitagita.com, indiwo.com, womansera.com, feminaindia.com to claim this top spot.

Following are the Alexa rankings for the top Indian women-only websites

Indusladies.com 42,976
Indiwo.com 65,934
Sitagita.com 230,147
Womansera.com 785,590
Feminaindia.com 12,560,795

For a lot of people, this news would come as a surprise because not many people would have heard about www.indusladies.com. There has not been any big advertising campaign to promote the site. Over the past 3 years, the site has grown organically mainly through word of mouth of existing members. The site currently has over 125,000 unique visitors per month, over 250,000 posts and over 1.25Million page views per month. Even though majority of the site members come from India, US, Europe & Middle East, the site has members from far corners of the world including places like Botswana, Rwanda, Peru, Papua New Guinea etc.

Contrary to the editorial driven news and magazine sites, www.Indusladies.com is completely driven by user-generated content. The pre-eminence of a user-generated content site like Indusladies.com over traditional websites points to the emergence of web as a social medium where knowledge sharing is becoming a center point of online activities.

“Our unique strength is the friendly community that we have built so meticulously,” said Malathy Jey, Founder and CEO of Indusladies.com. “It’s quite easy to find the list of Indian Jewellery stores in Munich. But how easy it is to find the store that sells the purest form of Gold Jewellery with the widest collection of Indian designs and at a reasonable price? You need a community of peers to weigh in on that question to lead you to the right answer. That is precisely what Indusladies.com facilitates and probably explains why several ladies find Indusladies.com very useful.”

“When a mom is trying to potty train a toddler, she doesn’t want an expert’s opinion on the issue. She wants real-life experiences shared by women like her. That is what will help her get the job done and that is what she will find in Indusladies.com”, says Malathy Jey.

The site has a robust system of moderation whereby volunteer moderators – spread around the world - keep a vigil on the site 24X7. The site has an elaborate forum etiquette that guides user behavior. Any violation of this forum etiquette is immediately dealt with by one of the moderators. This meticulous moderation process makes the site incredibly attractive as a safe hangout spot for several Indian ladies.

Several members initially come here to ask a question or share information. Over time, as a by-product of these interactions, members end up forming authentic and enduring friendships that manifest outside the online space.

The site is continuing to grow at a rapid pace. It is adding over 1500+ new members every month and growing 15% month over month on unique visitors. As the internet empower individuals and moves more towards a user-generated medium, Indusladies.com is well positioned to ride the next internet wave.

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

www.indusladies.com is a global online community and discussion board for Indian ladies.

/India PRwire/ - But there are the ‘plusses’ and the ‘minuses’ of this ‘strength’ and ‘uniqueness’ and there is a story behind this Team. Way back in 2003, when the present Managing Director of AFII Corporate Advisors Limited, Dr. Mahesh Gandhi, along with his colleague Ms. Vinnie Puri was looking to identify his initial team in the reborn Arbeiten Für (India) Inc., they decided to train young women, fresh out of MBA Schools, who could Research and assist them in new Product Development.

In this team, some young ladies were raised from JIMs, New Delhi and Udaipur University who got into intense research on Structured Products and International Business. This team supported in arranging finance, structured incentive and delivery assistance for the first ever Legacy Business Aircraft bought by an Indian Entrepreneur. Here, AFII was successful in bringing cash advantage to the Entrepreneur of over 10% on the total transaction cost of USD 20 Mn. The team earned a minimal percentage fee of less than 0.50% as they were new in business and were looking to find first takers.

The Second batch was recruited again in 2005 by an advertisement and some references that were sent to colleges in New Delhi. Among the newcomers, they had a joinee from JIMs, Ms. Payal Jain, who now in the position of Vice President, Business Advisory, at a young age of 26 leads a team of young ladies raised from Management Schools from in and around Delhi, including the Banasthali Campus of Jaipur. The strategy and method has remained the same, over years, to bring in fresh talent, to train them, to develop them according to the unique vision and needs of AFII, where it’s always an endeavor to provide interesting solutions to Clients’ complex challenges of business. This team has developed a global network of relationships, now criss-crossing over 30 Countries.

Problems in coping, yes, acknowledges Ms. Jain, "as we continue to serve our Clients, many a times, we are taken for granted and our ‘freshness’ and simplicity misused; our unique solutions are accepted, and used unpaid… besides, Clients very often refuse to pay after getting all the knowledge and information they need to get the task concluded; in one case, the Client owes our team over USD 0.50 Mn for a successful relationship we brought to him; but refuses to pay… AFII is of course going to Court for recovery, but such things happen more because of our apparent vulnerability…" At the same time, there are other Clients who acknowledge the unique strength of this group and offer opportunities which her team is happy to realize.

The unique advantages of an all women team are, the low employee turnovers, more focused work, desire to present achievement to the masses, and last but not the least, the ability to bond together as a group of achievers and go getters. As fresh blood joins year after year, the team grows at the top in experience and at the lower end it gains advantage of renewed vigour. The work environment remains healthy; of course, there is a lot of work pressure which leads to professional tensions between peers internally; but interestingly, like some sisters, younger and elder, like some mothers and their daughters, like some conscience keepers, and like some keepers of their homes, these ladies, are intent of delivering new structures in finance, new international relationships for Indian Ventures, and new solutions to acknowledged problem areas in India.

The M&A Team is working on Projects that include Energy (Generation, T&D), Fuel (Upstream), Infrastructure and Automotive Business. The Trade Finance Team enjoys a long standing relationship with State Bank of India and has now concluded a MoU with State Bank of Patiala for Structured Products’ development and distribution. Their order book exceeds several billion dollars but with little financial support from prospective Clients. Probably what this Team needs is a pat on the back, with some honest clients who would pay up. There seems to be no looking back for this team and under the technical guidance of Dr. Mahesh Gandhi, it is well expected that their young ‘all women team’ would excel and make a lot of money for the ladies as also add significant value to the Clients.

AFII Corporate Advisors Limited on the occasion of International Womens’ Day, 2008, in a communiqué felicitated and thanked its women

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire
www.afii.net

/India PRwire/ - Her plain Jane looks and a demure smile can be deceptive until she whizzes past you on her new Activa, leaving you jaw-dropped. A rich amalgam of the East and the West, the average urban Indian woman has catapulted herself today to new heights with her knowledge and experience, far away from her home and hearth.

Yes, you have guessed it right. The modern Indian woman aspires to be more ambitious and goal-oriented, entering into new arenas day in and day out. Jumping onto the bandwagon of high-paying jobs, she loves to call out the shots in hitherto male bastions.

Getting closer to the International Women’s Day, we talked to a bunch of women working with Top Careers & You (TCY) and its online division, tcyonline.com, who poured their hearts out on a host of issues confronting their professional and social lives.

We have found that she has proved her mettle as a complete woman -- a successful entrepreneur; an online publisher; a faculty par excellence; a creative content-developer; an able HR Executive; an online tutor; a counselor; and a successful manager. On top of that, she is making inroads into telecommuting (home-office) too, somewhat a nascent concept in this country.

Many of them have made their families proud by scripting success for themselves in the education field. For a woman like Ms. Gurpreet Wadhera, Program Head, English Language Division at TCY, it is all about understanding how well you can maintain a delicate balance between home and office.

“It’s a great challenge for a woman today to manage home and office but your success lies in being how effective and efficient you are. I think if one is sincere, dedicated and has a strong will-power, nothing is impossible to achieve in life,” said the former college lecturer.

Hard work, sincerity and strong determination have always been the bedrock of a successful woman. She is soaring higher in all walks of life whether she is a woman executive or a corporate manager. Sky is not the limit for her because she has learnt to cope with pressure situations. The Indian woman means business now and exploring new frontiers has become her new passion.

Ms. Mukta Gogia and Ms. Meenakshi Chatta love to telecommute from their offices in Mumbai and Delhi, respectively; for the corporate functions while handling domestic and international business. Drifting away from conventional ‘nine to five’ concept, these young women communicate with their office in Ludhiana from these two metros. Yes, the winds of change are blowing in this traditional industrial town.

The telecommuting concept may take some time to catch on nationwide, but its benefits are galore, especially for talented young mothers and who can’t afford to sacrifice their careers. It is a boon for the physically challenged too.

“It’s a great idea working from home-office for professionals, although the option to work from home depends a lot on your assigned project. Today, there are a host of opportunities for qualified women but they must meet your professional goals. Workplace not only enhances your personality but also makes you strong enough to face the challenges of life,” says Ms. Gogia, who is also a mother of a four-year-old son.

Ms. Chatta owes her success to her colleagues and supportive family. “We are a fantastic team of professionals, destined for excellence. Then, there is my family, wonderful and supportive,” she said. According to her, a good start at work-life balance begins with self-reflection. Her advice to young upcoming women professionals: “Always believe in yourself and your dreams. Take a challenge that you have to create your own story. When this dream combines with the organizational goal, success is destined to be yours. Shared responsibility at home and careful time management at work are critical”.

“Consider telecommuting and flex-time arrangements. Exploit technology to the fullest to work remotely and deliver. Be an online writer, a content developer, tutor or a communication person. There are immense opportunities available today for any enterprising woman, be it in the urban or semi-urban area. One can be financially independent, create employment for others and yet be a responsible family member. Live every day of your life with a purpose. Forget the excuses and start extending your reach”, says Ms. Chatta.

It is worth noting that tcyonline.com has created a home-based model for teachers who can publish questions and have an additional income. For Omar K. Saini, a teacher by profession, uploading her English content on the website has opened new avenues for her. “Now I can upload my test and download my money. This website has made that simple for me. What a fantastic idea for teachers like me to supplement their income,” she said enthusiastically.

The young woman brigade in today’s life face challenges of a different kind. Living far away from their parents in city paying guests or working women’s hostels make them stronger and more responsible. Ms. Jatinder Pal Kaur, a young HR executive with TCY, encourages more women to join the TCY workforce because of the long-term benefits.

“Women have always shared a deep association with the education sector. With private firms like Top Careers & You creating new opportunities besides classroom teaching, the Indian woman today is in a win-win situation. The team culture and respect for peers is amazing. Empowerment with no gender bias and time flexibility with the options like online tutoring and home-based jobs create a long term bond with our female staff.

Ms. Kaur gives great importance to ‘good mentoring’ in life, with the workplace as a learning platform. “It builds confidence and improves leadership skills which, I think, are a great asset for a girl today,” according to this Bathinda girl.

Ms. Shaveta Bhardwaj, who enjoys counseling students and parents, feels that “With sheer hard work and responsible behaviour, one can fulfill the dreams and rise to senior positions”.

It is all about time management, discipline and setting your priorities right. In fact, this is the success secret of women entrepreneurs who have made a mark for themselves.

Though money counts a lot for many, for some like Ms. Neha Gupta, an entrepreneur, ‘inner satisfaction’ is more important.

“The woman today is getting more career-conscious because she has realized that by living a submissive life she cannot prove her mettle. She can only achieve her goal by overcoming her problems,” said the TCY, Patiala, Franchisee.

Ms. Romy Khurana, TCY Amritsar Franchisee, does not think that the Indian women are getting ‘overambitious’ and ‘career-conscious’. “They are just trying to seek their identities in today’s challenging world. I think there is no harm in keeping pace with time and finding a place for yourself if you have the potential,” she said.

“My initial challenges were to prove my calibre on the chessboard of life where I had to smartly plan my positions but with my planning and single-mindedness, I was able to manage my work well,” said Ms. Khurana exuding loads of confidence and self-determination.

Working night shifts in the BPO industry or e-tutoring North American kids is another challenge for girls today in India. Many find it hard working at unearthly hours because of security concerns but thanks to a safe and secure work culture at TCY, girls like Tishu Kohli in fact enjoy their jobs of online tutoring. “I love my job. It is great teaching Math to K-12 students in the US. With ample support from my team members, working nights is no problem,” said Ms. Kohli who has been doing nights for the last two years now.

In a nutshell, we can say that the women power is to the fore today. No matter how hard the challenges are, the Indian women are marching ahead shoulder to shoulder with their Western counterparts. So, next time you see a simple looking woman walking on the street, do not take her for granted. She can turn the tables on you and have a last laugh!

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

/India PRwire/ - In light of the tragic assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, liberated Pakistani women grabbed a victory for progression this past month, when Saman Hasnain was crowned Mrs. Pakistan World 2008. In the second annual pageant, Hasnain’s crowning marks a time when modern and independent Pakistani women are doing all they can to gain a voice on the international stage.

Hasnain, a happily married mother of two, will go on to compete in the Mrs. World 2008 competition for her birth country. Hasnain, who now lives in San Francisco with her family looks at this win as a great honour and triumph for Pakistani women. “I would like to change the world’s perception of Pakistani women. It is important to raise funds and help resolve issues faced by Pakistan. I hope to act as a role model, and encourage, educate and motivate Pakistani women to help achieve a strong and progressive Pakistan” says Hasnain.

On December 27th, the world took a collective gasp over the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, one of the few political leaders who could have catapulted Pakistan into economic and political liberation. One may see Bhutto’s death as a giant step backwards, however many are realizing that it is a sign that this can no longer be a one-woman-show.

The newly crowned Mrs. Pakistan World 2008 is a real estate agent by trade, but has already worked diligently to aid a struggling Pakistan find its footing. She showed her charitable nature by helping build a school in a small village in Pakistan for 1000 children, and shown consistent support for DIL (Development in Literacy), all while volunteering at her children’s school in San Francisco. She plans to use her new title to increase her work and broaden her scope throughout the world.

Sonia Ahmed, president of Miss Canada Pakistan Inc., the organization who created Mrs. Pakistan World, says “Our goal is to show the world that Pakistani women have a global voice and a desire to progress and help change the world.” Ahmed created Miss Pakistan World in 2002, and as the 6th annual pageant approaches, she has seen her mission come to light as the crown winners have won several international titles and helped to prove that all Pakistani women can eventually have a positive and free-thinking future on a global scale.

The organization’s headquarters is in Toronto, Ontario where recently a young girl, Aqsa Parvez, was strangled to death by her father for not wearing her hijab (a traditional part of Muslim attire) in public. Occasions like these act as a deep reminder to those who are liberated from the radical traditions of the fundamentalists within the Pakistani community, that advancement is an irrefutable necessity.

One from western society may find it challenging to see how a beauty pageant would act as a means for women’s liberation, however for the women of Pakistan these pageants are a sign that there is a lot to look forward to in the progression of their country. A global voice is something that many of these women grew up not realizing would be possible in their lifetime.

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

Miss Pakistan World is a beauty pageant for all Pakistani girls from all over the world.

/India PRwire/ - The heinous practice of female feticide and infanticide in our country has become a raging issue today.

Nearly 10 million baby girls have been killed in India in the last twenty years. Some of the ramifications are manifesting themselves already. In certain areas of Punjab and Haryana, young brides are being “imported”. Much worse, young brides are being ‘shared’ by brothers! Though this problem looks insurmountable, solutions need to be found. And found urgently.

FLO, the women wing of FICCI is launching an all India campaign called SAVE THE GIRL CHILD. We are partnering with UNFPA, Corporates and the Government. In Bombay Ms Supriya Sule, Ms Priya Dutt, Ms Smita, Ms Anita Dongre, Sh Yash Chopra, Shri Javed Akhtar, Sh Prasoon Joshi, Sh Sachin Tendulkar,Ms Saira Banu are all our resource persons supporting this initiative of FLO.

Commenting on the occasion Ms Kiran Gera, National President FLO said, “Unfortunately, we tend to have an ostrich like attitude to issues that don’t knock at our doors directly. We at FLO have been shouting ourselves hoarse about how the ratios are getting dangerously skewed and how this will create major social problems. What has happened at Juhu recently alas is a sign of times to come. If we don’t deal with the core issue today, we will all be facing similar trauma as those two NRI women. And this is the reality, whether we accept it or not.”

Speaking on the occasion Mr Paresh Das V. P. Gitanjali Lifestyle Sales said “by partnering with FLO, we at Gitanjali would like to endorse this let’s celebrate the girl before we celebrate the diamonds. In India there is a prevalent myth of the son being the fore bearer of the family name, which should be broken.

Ms Vinita Bimbhet, Chairperson FLO said “To launch its national initiative to Save the Girl Child, FLO brings to you a unique musical evening Phir Wahi Shaam,Betiyon Ke Naam, on19th January at Jamshetji Bhaba. Through this presentation of live songs, interviews etc, we would be felicitating the stars on their innumerable achievements as artists and most importantly as nurturing and supportive parents of their daughters. They will be the icons for this initiative.

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

For further information, please contact
Abhijeet (9967395553) / Puja (9820473457)
Sampark Public Relations, Mumbai
