/India PRwire/ - Worldwide market for online tutoring is estimated to be in the region of $12 billion (Rs 46,800 crore). India now earns around $15 million (Rs 60 crore) per year from online tutoring -- 10 per cent of the total market share, reports Financial Express.

Vijay K Thadani, co-founder and CEO, NIIT, has said the Indian market, despite a 4 per cent market penetration, shows promise. The reason happens to be due to the size of the Indian population (100 crore) -- the absolute internet users are over 4 crore, which is bigger than the population of many developed countries.

Some advantages of online education over traditional Tuition

• You get 24/7 class room with a highly qualified instructor.

• You don’t have to step out of your house to get tuition

• You can study on your own at the time of your choice.

• You can sit at home and take online tuitions from qualified online tutors.

• You can schedule your class according to your convenience.

• You can speak to a subject matter expert as and when you need.

However, K Ganesh, founder and CEO of TutorVista, warns that a 100 per cent online tuition model would not work for India. “India’s internet penetration levels are very low and computers are very expensive here. A hybrid model, and not a 100 per cent e-learning model, would work better here,” K Ganesh has said.

Sujai.G, senior consultant of 2tion.com said “Online Tuition is becoming more and more popular in India these days after BPO (Business Process Outsourcing). Thousands of Indian teachers get opportunities to teach children across the globe and earn a good amount of money through online tuitions. This has become another successful internet business in India. There is a growing demand for online tutorials in UK and USA now.”

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

www.2tion.com platform gives a professional guidance for both the education seekers and education providers.

/India PRwire/ - Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr. Madhu Korah is blessed with a fortunate child, she gets herself and her family secured from 75 dreaded diseases. Mr. Madhu Korah apart from his political know how justified his parenthood by banking Umbilical cord blood of his daughter with Cryobanks India. “I would prefer each parent should take this decision as it’s once in a lifetime opportunity.” Mr. Ghazi Aasim Marketing Head of Cryobanks India said.

Stem cells are unspecialized cells that have two defining properties: the ability to differentiate into other cells and the ability to self-regenerate. The ability to differentiate is the potential to develop into other specialized cell types. Self-regeneration is the ability of stem cells to divide and produce more stem cells.

Stem cells are the building blocks of various organs and tissues in the body. Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body. Serving as a sort of repair system for the body, they can theoretically divide without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive. When a stem cell divides, each new cell has the potential to either remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain cell.

Cryobanks International India is a JV between Cryobanks International Inc., USA and RJ Corp founded in 2006. Cryobanks International Inc., USA is a world leader in the stem cell banking serving since decades.
/India PRwire/ -
Parent & Child, the groundbreaking parenting magazine by EuroKids, is now into its fifth issue. Judging by the massive number of subscription requests, the magazine (initially launched as Parenting & You) has attained and surpassed all initial targets.

“Of course, we had never doubted the fact that there was a dearth of good reading for Indian parents,” says Uday Mathur, CEO of EuroKids’ India operations. “In fact, it was this dearth that prompted us to conceive of Parent & Child in the first place.”

Aren’t there other parenting magazines on the market now?

“There are a number of parenting magazines from the West available. However, the Indian parenting context is and will always remain unique – and so will Parent & Child,” he states. “We interviewed many parents of children in our chain of EuroSchools – they agreed that there was little to take home from magazines reflecting purely Western values. The Indian parent walks a tightrope of traditional parenting concepts that must meet Western concepts somewhere along the way. Globalization is a fact – but so is the Indian ethos. And the Indian ethos can have little in common with westernized Yummy Mummy publications.”

Commenting on Parent & Child’s content-rich format, marketing head Vikas Phadnis explains – “This magazine is definitely not centered on advertising revenues, preferring to cater to its firm and growing readership instead. The point is – there is so much for Indian parents to explore, and so many different points of view to be examined, that we chose to give the highest preference to hard-core information. There is no We have ”

So where does Parent & Child go in the fifth issue?

“Where do India’s parents go from here?” ask Uday Mathur with a smile. “Forward - always forward. Parenting is a full-time job - so is informing parents on new ways of doing that job. We explore some untouched areas in every issue, and the fifth issue will be no different. Read it and stay tuned in - the next issue of Parent & Child will hit the stands in less than two weeks.”

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

Parent & Child magazine is a venture by EuroKids International Private Limited. The publication is therefore backed by this institution’s pre-eminence in the children’s book publishing segment, and its standing as the largest education services provider in the pre-primary space.

ABOUT EUROKIDS

EuroKids International operates ‘EuroKids Pre Schools’ - the largest preparatory school network in India. This network comprises of 410 pre-schools across 140+ Indian towns. In excess of 55,000 students have been educated at these establishments since 2001.

/India PRwire/ - “By 2020 India will have the youngest population of the world which will shape up the nation for future. Hence it is imperative that this population should receive holistic education in terms of sex education and disaster management education which is basically a life skill education”, stated Union Minister Smt. Renuka Chowdhury while inaugurating Disaster Management Exhibition organized by NMIMS University in partnership with BMC.

She also said that any society that does not care for the impact of such disasters on the children can be faced with a generation that takes it off the trajectory of healthy development. We in India have to be especially conscious of this issue for over a third of our population consists of school going children. The impact of the disasters is magnified the community’s lack of preparedness for the same. If this crucial area of managing disaster is seen as an essential life skill and becomes a part and parcel of the socialization process, then there will be a much more proactive response to any mishap. Examples from nations like Israel and Japan have shown us how to build a society that can face the challenges of inevitable disasters with courage. It is this spirit that we have to inculcate in the school going children in India.

Smt. Chowdhury emphasized that through Government initiatives like incorporating Disaster Management courses in the CBSC education is a welcome change but there is a need to facilitate Public Private Partnership in providing the Disaster Management education to all the children. When children are educated in Disaster Management it helps in disseminating information to the community at large. Rearing children is a collective responsibility and hence families, communities and schools should develop a nurturing attitude towards children of both the sex. She lauded the spirit of Mumbai in handling the 26/7 disaster effectively. She saluted the indomitable spirit of this city that has seen so many natural and man made disasters but has always risen to give the message of live and let live to the world. Mumbai truly deserves the title of being the city of cosmopolitan and never say die spirit. It is this spirit combined with such exhibitions and workshops that will make Mumbai not just the financial capital of Asia in the coming days

Dr. Kondap , Vice Chancellor-NMIMS University in his speech said that NMIMS believes that disaster management education for children is a necessary life skill which needs to be provided to them as part of the socialization process. This will help us to nurture a generation which will have a scientific bend of mind. To achieve this agenda, the Disaster Management Cell of NMIMS worked with the Chatrubhuj Narsee Memorial School, Shri Manilal Vadilal Nanavati Prathamik Shala Nanavati School and Smt. Gokalibai Punamchand Pitambar High School situated Vile- Parle (w). As an outcome of the disaster preparedness and management education to school teachers and children, a Disaster Management Exhibition in partnership with the Disaster Management Cell of Brihanmumbai Mahanagarpalika.

The entire exhibition is designed by school children with the guidance of their teachers, disaster management experts from Government, NGOs and Industry. To support the said cause there has been active support from Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police, Civil Defence, Mutual Aid Response Group (represented by Tata Power Company Ltd), Mahanagar Gas Ltd, Excel Industries and Tata Consultancy Services and various organizations. The Exhibition will remain open on 9th Feb between 9am-5pm. at C.N.M. School, Vile Parle (W)

Shri Amrish Patel, Chancellor-NMIMS delivered the welcome Address and welcomed Smt. Chowdhury and Mr. Kishore Gajbhiye, Addl. Municipal Commissioner, who was the Guest of Honour of the ceremony.

Followed by this Smt Renuka Chowdhury had an interactive session with faculty members and students of NMIMS University where she spoke on ‘Women’s Empowerment and Role of Universities’. In her speech she spoke about the various contemporary issues which women face both in family and workplace. To ameliorate these problems, she felt that there is a need for mainstreaming gender through adequate implementation of legislation, attitudinal and mindset change to look at gender. She reiterated that at birth, sex is determined but “gender” is an outcome of our perception. To create a healthy and sustainable society, management education should focus on developing individuals who are socially sensitive and believe in dignity of both the sexes. She lauded the efforts of NGOs who are working in areas of Anti trafficking, legal intervention and gender empowerment. She emphasized that though the levels of education have risen, the incidence of domestic violence in various forms is still evident. In this context it is imperative that students attending Universities are exposed to gender issues and helped to develop a holistic personality rather than a typical B-School personality. She requested the University to start a course on ‘Inter-personal Counseling’ which can be of great value to the society at large.

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

About SVKM’s NMIMS University

Established in 1981, as a Management Institute, NMIMS has now transformed itself into a University, with 8 Schools, over 150 full-time faculty members, 42000 books and over 2500 students enrolling every year, transforming from an Institute of single management faculty to a University with many faculty areas.

/India PRwire/ - The modules of the Children's Services Integrated Working Programme are intended for those who work with children and young people across children’s services agencies including education, social services, Connexions, health, early years, schools and so on. The modules cover:

Introduction to ‘Every Child Matters’ (ECM)

Introduction to Integrated Working

Information Sharing in Practice

Common Assessment Framework (CAF) in Practice

Lead Professional in Practice

Local arrangements

“Learning and training are becoming key issues for everyone who is involved with delivering children’s services,” explained TIS’s Sunil Mehta.

“Common questions include: how do I bring different organisations together, increase levels of multi-agency working and provide effective and consistent training to a large audience; how can I ensure that the new legislation is communicated effectively and the department can audit that training has been delivered, and how can I provide learning at the point of need for front line service staff so that they can carry out their job effectively and securely?”

TIS believes that these e-learning programmes – which can be customised to each council or department - not only provide some answers to these questions but also provide an accurate, up-to-date message that is easily accessible and widely available as and when required. Mehta commented: “As such, we believe that these are not only highly effective learning materials but that they also represent impressive value for taxpayers’ money compared with the costs of classroom-based delivery of this subject matter.

“Among the teaching techniques employed in the programmes is TIS’s highly acclaimed story-based learning objects (StoBLs™) approach, which uses highly realistic scenarios and stories, interactive quizzes and case studies, along with other learning aids including checklists to present learning materials in a vivid and memorable way.”

About the Children Act 2004

The Children Act of 2004 – which is an extension of the Children Act 1989 – sets out a framework of duties and accountabilities that will help in the development of quality services relating to the needs of children. In addition, a national services framework for children, young people and maternity services has been developed which sets standards for children’s health and social services, and the interface of those services with education.

These initiatives have also led to the definition of a ‘common core of skills and knowledge for the children’s workforce’. This covers effective communication and management; child and young person development; safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child; supporting transitions; multi-agency working, and sharing information.

Source: Press release distribution via India PRwire

Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), a global leader in e-learning, is a part of the $22bn Tata Group.
