Kerala Voyages launches exclusive Summer Experience Programmes at ITB 2010
To leverage on the under-explored Summer season in Kerala; Targets revenue of USD 1 million from Summer sales; 7 nigh packages starts from USD 220; Initiative to further enhance company's presence in UK, Germany, US and South African markets
Tweet-- Kerala Voyages, leading promoters of South India in the global travel and tourism market has launched exclusive Kerala Summer experience programmes at the ITB Berlin, the world's leading travel trade show opened in Berlin today. Kerala Voyages is presenting summer packages targeted at the West for the second consecutive year to tap the hither to under-explored summer holidaying potential of God's Own Country.
Traditionally summer season in Kerala has been considered as off season or lean season in industry circles globally and the Monsoon is being declared between June and September. To some extent this is true as close to 70 percent of inventories and infrastructure remain idle during this period. Last year Kerala Voyages initiated a campaign to test market Kerala summer in Europe and UK and ended up generating excellent results. This year, thanks to the extensive B2B marketing campaigns and promotions across UK, US, South Africa and Germany, Kerala Voyages expects to cross one million USD mark in summer sales alone. The company has already signed up a number of European groups for August and September and more such groups are expected to confirm by the next month.
Kerala Voyages has developed exclusive 7 nights/8 days' beach breaks in Kovalam and Marari for the summer visitors. For a Premium beach stay of 7 nights will cost less than USD 500 per pax, Deluxe will cost 350 USD and for budget travellers a special 7 nights package in Kovalam is made available for a meagre 220 USD. Due to the heavy and extended winter in UK and Europe, Kerala Voyages expects a lot more tourists than previous years as people could not even get out of their houses and the situation is too tough for them in those countries.
"Objective of promoting Kerala Summer in overseas markets is mainly to attract a decent crowd who can not afford Indian Tour prices during winter season. Normally they prefer to visit other Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand which are less expensive and now even Sri Lanka is a major threat to Kerala as the holiday prices are quite cheap out there. Sri Lanka even started promoting Ayurveda which was boasted as a unique product of Kerala. Kerala Voyages is all set to engage into a price-war with the low cost South Asian players;" said Mr. George Scaria, Managing Director, Kerala Voyages. This discounted price drive is an occasion to share the joy of the 10th Anniversary celebrations as well. The Summer offers will be valid from 01 May till 30 Sept, though the Special Anniversary offers will run till 31 March 2011.
Kerala Voyages will be promoting these exclusive Kerala Summer experience packages through their trade and industry associates in UK, US, South Africa and Germany. Special focus will be given to the Company's Backwater Tours and Summer Experience packages during the B2B promotions that kick-start at the ITB 2010.
