UK IMMIGRATION - The new tier 1 visa is designed to discriminate

The UK Government has announced the latest plans on the new Tier 1 visa for highly skilled People who wish join the UK work force. Under the tier 1 visa scheme due to be rolled out in India from the 1st April it is clear the UK government want a system that is not based on Merit as we would expect in a meritocracy which the UK Plc brands claims it is. Instead the new system clearly discriminates against many of the finest skills and talent being able to work in the UK and is full of tricks to discriminate against those the UK view as lesser than others. The new tier 1 visa system is divisive in how it allocated points and to whom. Making it easier for people to enter the UK from mainly English speaking white countries such as Canada, Australia and the USA but restrictive to those from countries like India or Nigeria.

Liam Clifford the Director of www.globalvisas.com and also the Director of www.globavisas.co.in states that “It is highly questionable how the UK Government have elected to recognise things like English language ability from a person who studied in Quebec Canada a French speaking territory of old white Common Wealth Country and those give to say a Nigerian Who studied in very similar circumstances.” The tier 1 Visa system is floored in many regards however it now allows the UK Government to not just discriminate on nationality but also on age and many other factors. In the UK it is now illegal to discriminate on age when employing a person a employers and rarely concerned with a persons age if they can do the job with many employers preferring a more mature approach to life. The new Tier 1 visa now discriminates against older people by reducing the points they may receive. www.globalvisas.com and www.globalvisas.co.in strongly disagree with this approach and are taking appropriate steps to challenge the governments thinking on this issues.

To datethe UK being a service proving ecomony relies heavily on the skills coming from India to manage their ever growing IT demands. Indian IT managers may not have perfect English but UK employers find them hard working and well educated. Whileother developing countries provide a vast range of skills and tallent the UK are now actively discriminating against.

Another worrying factor for www.globalvisas.co.in is the way previous earnings play such a major factor in the decision making process. Again this does not allow and Immigration Officer the ability or authority to select the finest talent from a Global pool of candidates not does it assist UK employers in their international quest for talent. Previous earning in certain countries are virtually imposing to prove accurately. Also those who have worked part time to raise a family or taken a career break will suffer because their earnings were not kept up to a prescribed amount. www.globalvisas.com urges the UK government to allow discretion on this point.

As the UK roles out their tier 1 visa the eyes of the world are upon them. Are they truly a multicultural success story that will be a global power in the coming century based on being a meritocracy collecting the finest talent from around the world or will they go on to show that they remain most interested in young white male from white English speaking countries.

The UK Government have now been made aware of how their new flag ship Immigration system looks to the rest of the world. In the next few weeks they will go live with the tier 1 system in India first before rolling it out across the world. sites like www.tier12345.co.uk and the sites ran by www.globavisas.comprovide daily updates on this new visa.
