Mumbai, Maharashtra, December 30, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- January 1-7 every year is observed as road safety week. Currently, Road Accidents account for a majority of the casualties in India. Road accidents have become a number one killer with newspapers reporting casualties' everyday across the nation. The number of road accidents and casualties can, to a very large extent, be reduced if people follow simple traffic rules. IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd along with Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM & Traffic Police have thus decided to make an attempt to create public awareness to road safety measures through their initiative on road safety called the 'IL&FS Transportation road safety week'
