Gateway Distriparks Ltd (GDL) has reported good growth in volumes, revenues and net profit in the quarter ended 31 Dec 2007

Q-3 vs Q-2 : Revenue grew by 12.4 % to Rs 71.99 crores from Rs 64.03 Crores in Q-2, while net profit increased by 6.6 % to Rs 20.13 Crores from Rs 18.88 Crores in the previous quarter. Throughput increased by 6.3 % from 90,277 TEUs to 95,987 TEUs.

Year on Year (9 Months) : During the 9-month period ended 31 Dec 2007, revenue grew by 61.6 % to Rs 184.34 crores, while net profit was Rs 57.59 Crores, compared to Rs 57.56 Crores in the 9-month period ended 31 Dec 2006. The profit in the preceding 9-month period included an investment income of Rs 16.70 Crores, compared to only Rs 7 Crores during the current 9-month period.

The fully diluted earnings per share (EPS) in Q-3 was Rs 1.74.

Second CFS at JNP: “Our second CFS (Punjab Conware) has taken off very well and is helping us consolidate our leadership position in the JNP CFS market”.

Container Rail Business: “We have acquired and deployed six of our own container trains and an additional six container trains are expected to be received by March 2008, in stages”, said Mr Gopinath Pillai, Chairman, GDL.
