7th JK Tyre National Rotax Max Karting Championship begins today in Hyderabad
First round at the newly launched Kartainment track from July 9-11, Winners to represent India in the Rotax World Finals
Tweet-- The 7th JK Tyre National Rotax Max Karting Championship begins today at the newly launched Kartainment track. The championship will take off with the qualifying and heat races scheduled to be held today and the final races to be held on Sunday, July 11, 2010.
The inaugural race of the championship was held at the Street Circuit in Balewadi in Pune in May this year in the presence of over 20,000 spectators. The championship which started off in 2004.
"JK Tyre has been actively promoting motorsport in the country and has patronized Karting circuits across the country. In our continuing effort to take motorsport to the grassroot level and make it more popular amongst the budding enthusiasts, we started the Rotax Max National Karting Championship which is the only Karting Championship in the country. The winners of these championships get a lifetime opportunity to represent India in the Rotax World Finals. Over 80 percent of the participants in the VW Polo Cup this year have graduated from our karting programs," says Mr. Sanjay Sharma, Head - Motorsport, JK Tyre and Industries Limited.
The total number of entries is for this round is 50 of which 19 entries are in the senior class, 18 entries in the junior class and 13 entries in the Micro Max category. This season has participation from Mohites Racing Team, Red Rooster Racing, Rayo Racing, Meco Racing and Amaron Pro Racing with Meco.
JK Tyre and Meco Motorsports have together conceived these races to give young talents an opportunity to showcase their motorsport skills and get them accustomed to high level of karting before making their way into the international arena.
