The International Creative Club announced the Spectacular event "Woman Power" in Pune on 7th March 2010
- Bharat Ratna Smt. Lata mangeshkar was felicitated with "The Genesis Award" at the hands of Shri. Sharad Pawar, Agriculture Minister, Govt. of India. - Draupadi ballet by veteran cine actress Hema Malini. - A significant part of the funds raised from staging the show Draupadi was donated to the Genesis Home, a social initiative by TICC for the HIV+ children.
-- The International Creative Club (TICC), Pune, announced the mega event in Pune on 7th March 2010. On the occasion of International Women's Day TICC for first time saluting the spirit of "Woman Power". TICC felicitated Bharat Ratna Smt. Lata Mangeshkar "The Genesis award" at the hands of Honorable Shri.Sharad Pawar (Agricultural Minister, Govt. of India).The programme was followed by an astonishing Draupadi ballet by renowned actress Hema Malini.
The event took place on 7th March 2010 from 6.30 pm onwards at ILS, Law College Ground, Law College Road, Pune.
Ms.Minal Khot President of TICC said that , "The motive behind such programme is to honour the universal feminine spirit and to make this idea fruitful, TICC has instituted the Genesis Award. This award will be given to the lady of outstanding achievement in her own field at the international level. She added further , The highlight of the event is the enactment of Draupadi, a grand ballet produced and directed by veteran cine actress and internationally acclaimed danseuse Hema Malini. For the first time ever, Puneites got the privilege of watching Hema Malini perform live in such a large scale. She played the central role in Draupadi - a ballet focusing on the life of a key character from the Mahabharata. Draupadi is all about underlining and celebrating woman power.
Minal Khot described about Genesis Homes -This programme also caters for a social cause. A significant part of the funds raised from staging the show Draupadi will go to Genesis Home. TICC intends to establish a home called Genesis Home, for HIV+ children that will take care of their basic needs such as fooding, clothing, shelter, medication etc. The project would offer them a dependable and congenial space where the children can live and play with respect.
The birth of Woman Power Concept - Women now are working hard and contributing a lot in all fields of work. They make up one half of the world's task force and constitute half the planet's potential. In them lie motherhood, compassion, humanity, love and unlimited strength. Across the globe 8th march is being observed as International Women's Day every year and to mark this occasion The International Creative Club (TICC), Pune, from this year has organized a spectacular event called "Woman Power".
