The important North Indian cricket centers represented by Chandigarh Lions & Delhi Giants take on each other this Saturday, March 15th at Panchkula. This big match is expected to be a closely contested competitive battle. A grudge match of sorts, as the impressive Giants juggernaut was derailed by the Lions in a cliffhanger semi final at the inaugural ICL 20s in December 2007.

The Giants have made an impressive start to their campaign at the Edelweiss 20s Challenge with an impressive win against their traditional rivals Mumbai Champs. The Giants look a formidable side, their young domestic stars have done very well with Abbas Ali & Murtaza shining with the bat &ball respectively.

Ably backed by their rich arsenal of international stalwarts led by Captain Marvan Atapattu & the star attraction of the Edelweiss 20s Challenge - Shane Bond, the Giants are one of the front runners for the top honors at the Edelweiss 20s Challenge. On the other hand the Lions led by the charismatic Chris Cairns is one of most well gelled cricketing unit at the Edelweiss 20s Challenge, not to forget the home advantage they enjoy for this big match. Can the Giants extract their revenge against their north Indian rivals, Chandigarh Lions on 15th March?

Trans Punjab rivalry

The dominant Badshahs are on a rampage and seem to be the most impressive side at the Edelweiss 20s Challenge. The forthcoming match scheduled for this Sunday, March 16th between one of the top teams in the tournament, Chandigarh Lions taking on the fancied Badshahs, has all the possibilities of introducing a grand new rivalry between these two fantastic sides representing Punjab on either sides of the borders.

Surely the ICL will not have any monkey business but expect Chaste Punjabi vocabulary exploited to the fullest when these two Punjabi outfits take on each other this Sunday, March 16th at Panchkula-7pm.

Is it going to be the side on The Indian side of Punjab who can stop the dominant Lahore Badshahs?

Edelweiss 20s Challenge is being held in three locations – Hyderabad, Chandigarh (Panchkula) and Gurgaon. The tournament is telecasted LIVE on TEN Sports & ZEE Sports in India, Geo Super in Pakistan, Astro & Telkom Malaysia in Malaysia, Starhub in Singapore, Showtime Arabia in Middle-East, ZEE Sports in USA & Canada and ZEE Cinema in United Kingdom & Europe.
