McDonald’s soon to open its Third restaurant in Kolkata
Plans to roll out the first state-of-the-art MFY restaurant in the city
Tweet-- Continuing with its expansion plans despite ongoing difficult economic conditions, McDonald’s is soon to open its brand new restaurant at City Centre Mall, Kolkata’s first integrated multi–utility & retail facility located at Rajarhat in Salt Lake in the near future. The newly-opened outlet will be McDonald’s Third restaurant in Kolkata and in Eastern India. With the opening of this restaurant, the total numbers of McDonald’s restaurants in North & East India will go up to 91.
Spread across 3700 square feet, it will be a flagship McDonald’s restaurant with a seating capacity for 180 people. It will be built on the new state-of-the-art technology driven MFY (Made for You) food preparation platform. MFY is a unique concept where the food is prepared as the customer places its order. This cooking method has helped McDonald’s further strengthen its food safety, hygiene and quality standards. This is the 10th MFY McDonald’s restaurant in its portfolio. All the new upcoming McDonald’s restaurants in the country would be based on MFY.
On the occasion, Rudra Kishore Sen - Head of Operations, McDonald’s India (North and East) said, "Establishing a strategic presence at popular hotspots is crucial to our expansion plans in Kolkata, and we are on the lookout for quality retail real estate in the city to increase our accessibility to the customers. We are committed to expanding our presence here and to bring to our consumers an exciting McDonald’s experience.”
Diners at the new restaurant can enjoy McDonald’s world-famous range of Burgers, MacFries, and Wraps.
The restaurant will also hold separate Dessert Kiosk which will offer limited menu of unique range of desserts that are not usually available in a McDonald’s restaurant. The kiosk will have a range of desserts such as McSwirl Butterscotch, waffle cone with chocolate and strawberry toppings, flavour twist green apple and soft serve cones.
The communication efforts look at reaching out to the local residents through radio activation and outdoor kiosks, posters, banners & hoardings, while keeping a bagful of surprises reserved for the in-restaurant experience itself.
