The focus of the two day Asia Retail Congress was to discuss and influence the issues for innovation and change providing the ideal opportunity to interact with leading companies through keynote presentations, brainstorming sessions and interactive discussions. Quality up-to-date case studies from leading corporations provided a closer look at the improvements that the biggest companies in the market are currently implementing worldwide.
The Asia Retail Congress is aimed at Company Chairs, Presidents, Directors and CEOs from among leading international and national Retailers and brands that believe in making change happen. Retail's most successful and innovative leaders from industry to academia shared their strategies and best practices in an interactive and fruitful manner.
The Asia Retail Congress handed out their prestigious Annual Awards, carefully selected by expert juries for Retailer of the Year under different categories including, Emerging Retailer of the Year, Retail Best Employer, Lifetime Achievement Award, etc. Along with Asia Retail Congress, Shoppers and Consumer Insights also awarded developers and retailers under different categories like Most Admired Shopping Centre Design of the Year, Award For Outstanding Contribution to Shoppers Insight; Award For Excellence in Shopper Insight & Consumer Behavior; Award For Academic Excellence (In teaching Consumer Behavior & Shopper Insight), among others.
At the Awards evening, Alpha G:Corp's name was announced as winner of The Emerging Retailer of the Year - Real Estate and Most Admired Shopping Centre Design of the Year. Mr. Anuj Puri CMD, JLL Meghraj along with Ms. Kasliwal of Reid & Taylor gave Mr. Prodipta Sen, VP, Marketing & Corporate Affairs of Alpha G:Corp the Award for Most Admired Shopping Centre Design of the Year while Ms. Rashmi Sen, GM, Marketing of Alpha G:Corp received the Emerging Retailer of the Year - Real Estate Award on behalf of the company.
Mr. Prodipta Sen thanked the eminent Jury, Asia Retail Congress, Shoppers & Consumers Insights and all sponsors, organizers and the distinguished audience at the prestigious ceremony. Mr. Sen commented, "These honors show that the fraternity and media have yet greater expectations of us. During the Congress, Mr. Prodipta Sen of Alpha G:Corp also Chaired the talk session, 'What should retailers do to succeed in the current market dynamics?' The panelists of this session included Mr. Kabir Lumba, MD, Lifestyle Group, Mr. Radhakrishnan, CMD, Aligned Business Partners who was the head of the startup of Spencer and Reliance Retail Value format and Mr. Damodar Mall, Group Customer Director, Future Group. Mr. Anuj Puri, CMD, JLL Meghraj invited Mr. Sen to be part of the special section Chaired by him along with Mr. Ritu Raj, Director, Knight Frank and Mr. Dheeraj Dogra Head Retail, Express Avenue. This was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and build bridges with peers from across the globe during the special networking sessions. The participants at the Asia Retail Congress were Boston Consulting, Accenture Services, Cadbury India, Wipro, Titan, Shoppers Stop Limited, Jones Lang LaSalle Meghraj, Reliance Retail Ltd., CB Richard Ellis South Asia, Aditya Birla Retail Ltd., Vishal Retail Ltd., Landmark, Lifestyle Group, Gloria Jean's, Coffees International, who made their presence felt in the deliberations for 'Creating the New Vision in Retail', among a guest profile of 250 that consisted of the best national and international retailers.
Alpha G:Corp is set to unveil the stunning AlphaOne mega retail development in Amritsar on 5th March 2010. Besides the recent felicitations at the Asia Retail Congress AlphaOne's also recently received the honor of 'Highly Commended Certification' and 'Seal of Distinction' in the category of Mixed-Use Development at the 2009 edition of the Cityscape Asia Real Estate Awards held in Singapore in May 2009. At the inaugural Realty Plus Excellence Awards 2009 held in New Delhi, Alpha G:Corp was also honored with "The Emerging Developer of the Year Award". At the Cityscape Asia Real Estate Awards 2008 held at Singapore, Alpha G:Corp's Golf View Corporate Towers was certified 'Highly Commended' in the Best Developer - Commercial/Office (Built) category.
At the Asia Pacific Real Estate Awards, 2008 held in Shanghai, China, from among companies nominated on their overall market contribution, quality of customer service, innovation and commercial success. Alpha G:Corp's GurgaonOne was semi-finalist for the Awards - Residential Development as well as Asia Pacific Sustainability Project of the Year Award, a category for Sustainable Projects featuring Green Projects from the entire Asia Pacific Region.
