DB REALTY unveils ORCHID OZONE Predicts shift in sector to "Family Leisure Retailing" (FLR) format

Spread over 2.5 million sq.ft, the project located at the North West tip of Mumbai promises to change benchmarks in the Indian retailing industry. Orchid Ozone will be the first high end retail project to comprise retailing, entertainment and hospitality. DB Realty predicts that ‘Family Leisure Retailing (FLR)” formats will change the dynamics of the retailing industry in the next five year horizon.
Spread over fourteen acres of land overlooking the green expanse of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Orchid Ozone will provide urbanites 1.6 million sq.ft of retail therapy, an international business hotel, a dedicated kids ‘play and care’ zone, entertainment along with dining options and India’s only “14-screen” megaplex. Conceived by the Research team at DB Realty and designed by Hafeez Contractor, Orchid Ozone will be Mumbai’s biggest retail destination providing a ‘complete’ international family leisure experience.
Being built at an investment of USD 175 million (Rs. 700 crore), DB Realty’s Orchid Ozone has roped in prime anchor tenants such as Pantaloons, Hypercity and Shoppers Stop.
Bringing many firsts to India, Orchid Ozone will feature the world’s most renowned company in creating water themed fountains - Wet Design Inc.USA to transform water into a mystifying experience. In addition, it will comprise many attractions with international touches such as:
- India’s only 14 screen megaplex with exclusive lounge seating
- A 50,000 sq. ft kids ‘play & care’ zone
- Travolators to connect shoppers seamlessly from one level of the mall to the other.
- Large food courts offering world cuisine that overlook the scintillating water themed atriums
- One of its kind Ice Skating Rink
- Water themed Park
