Tweet-- The 5th edition of India’s most exciting annual networking event for entrepreneurs and investors, TiE-ISB Connect '09 (www.tie-isbconnect.com) will be held on October 22nd and 23rd, 2009 at Hotel Marriott Hyderabad.
The theme for this Year TiE-ISB Connect 2009 is “The Crisis will pass….Will You, TiE-ISB Connect addressing real issues. The focus is to address the issue of ‘Surviving and Succeeding’ in difficult times and bring together first-time and seasoned entrepreneurs with investment community to explore the opportunities and challenges in the current economic times.
For the first time a session on - starting a new venture and raising funds through the seed to the growth stage of the company has been introduced to address entrepreneurial challenges. During the 2 day event eminent panelists will dwell into the operational challenges like organizational structure, legal compliance, building team, managing cash, creating brand, marketing, and other aspects of building a successful company.
Making the announcement Dr. Ramesh Babu, President of TiE said, many entrepreneurs and enterprises around the globe are facing tough economic and market challenges. The topics this year like the session on Funding and Operational Challenges during Series A/B has been carefully aligned to address the challenges an entrepreneur faces in building enterprise from an idea to growth and to establish status. Our objective is to continuously design and create opportunities for entrepreneurs in what ever stage of business they are, to network with successful people of and learn what one person can achieve with the right focus.
“There is really something for everybody,” said J A Chowdary, Member Board of Trustees, TiE Global commenting on the broad range of topics TiE-ISB Connect conceives each year. We need entrepreneurs to be aware of the opportunities out there for them, and give them the opportunity to listen to a diverse mix of successful business leaders, VC’s. Our aim is to create a platform wherein entrepreneurs can derive value and also give opportunity to showcase several new business-enhancing ideas, build contacts, find strategic partners and investors to the business community.’
“Company Showcase” is a new feature in this year TiE-ISB Connect 2009. It provides a unique opportunity for young and exciting company’s to set-up stalls and showcase their products / services to the niche audience participating in the conference. Companies participating will have the advantage of discussing and receiving quality feedback from fellow entrepreneurs, venture investors and business leaders.
TiE-ISB Connect 2009 opens on October 22, with a workshop on ‘Jumpstart your Venture’ followed by sessions on funding and Operational Challenges during Seed Stage, Taking India Forward and Company Showcase.
Day 2 on 23rd October will feature talk on ‘Next 800 Million opportunity’. This will be followed by a session on Funding and Operational Challenges during Series A/B. Thereafter, discussion on Funding and Operational Challenges during Growth Stage will be held. VC Connect and Company Showcase will feature during later half of the day. Over the last 4 years the event attracted over 1000 business plans and over 50 Venture Capitalists representing the core and sunrise industries. TiE-ISB Connect has also held several rounds of mentoring sessions helping many entrepreneurs to refine their strategies and business approaches. Of the 350 entries for business plans received last year there are nearly 13 companies, which are in last stage talks with VCs and are likely to receive funding.
