New Delhi, Delhi, July 21, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- The Asian Multimedia Publishing Awards Committee of the Asian Publishing Convention 2009 announced India’s Avantha Group, a $3 billion leading transnational corporation, as winner of the Asian Corporate Communications Award under the category, “Innovative corporate communications in a multimedia world”. This prestigious accolade was awarded to Avantha for “building an effective communication channel and tool to connect with 20,000 employees across geographical, organisational and cultural borders and diverse business verticals.”

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Gautam Thapar, Group Chairman & CEO, Avantha Group said, “The Award recognizes Avantha’s efforts at bringing together each of its 20,000 employees from across the world.”

The sharply-defined objectives for this international award-winning activity were to build channels of communication and touch points that would help percolate news and information about the Group to each of the 20,000 employees spread over 15 countries worldwide. The project also sought to inculcate a sense of belonging to a single entity, while reinforcing the newly-established Group brand identity, and to increase the visibility of each Group company and entity across the organization.

Adding further on Avantha’s accomplishment, Ms. Shravani Dang, Group Head of Corporate Communications, said, “The Avantha Group considers communications as a key practice and process in employee engagement. The Group communications function, responsible for both internal and external communications across the Group worldwide, reports directly into the Chairman. And just as good and clear leadership is not limited to “good times”, communications is defined as an important function at all times.”

The Asian Multimedia Publishing Awards is Asia’s premier publishing awards programme that recognizes best multimedia publishing practices in Asia. It incorporates the Asian Book Publishing Awards and Asian Corporate Communications Awards. The recognition of awards winners will be held during the Gala Dinner and Awards Night of the Asian Publishing Convention at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Manila, The Philippines, on July 17, 2009.
