The two day conference of The International Conference of Jurists for Judicial Reforms was held recently at London. between June 13th to June 14th 2009. Organized by International Council of Jurists and Honorable Society of Lincoln's Inn, the conference marks significant developments in the arena of judicial norms and standards.

A conference of one of its kind, it focused on issues related to judiciary, international terrorism, role of media in democracy and human trafficking and so on. Eminent personalities of the judicial systems from all around the globe shared their thoughts over these burning issues of the present time.
The integration of cross country legal views with the amalgamation of contemporary issues related to the social life of the citizens held the key objective of the conference.
Honourable Chief Justice of India Dr. K. G. Balakrishnan attended the conference along with a few distinguished legal authorities from Indian legal fraternity. Among the other dignitaries present at the conference were Lord Falconer, Ex. Lord Chancellor of the United Kingdom, Mr. Awl Al-Khasawneh, Judge, International Court of Justice, Mr. Augustino Ramadhani, Chief Justice of Tanzania and Mr. Arifin Zakaria, Chief Judge of Malaya (Federal Court of Malayasia).
President of International Council of Jurists and Chairman of All India Bar Association, Dr. Adish C. Aggarwal observed: “This is not only a great occasion to have all the respected participants from all spheres of the legal arena in a common forum, but also a platform to discuss issues that are important in today’s world.”
Senior Consultant Mr. K.K. Singhania – Chairman, Cygnus Group said: “In this era of globalization, co-operation between the judiciary of countries becomes important. Issues like such as terrorism, international trade, corporate corruption & crime is not restricted to a particular geographical boundary. Conferences such as this should be encouraged so that countries get an international platform to discuss problems that affect them all.”
As expected, the conference generated ideas to combat issues discussed and solutions that are feasible and timely.
