Vasantha vizha 2009 highlighted the importance of school children to send the message of peace and to stop terrorism. This mega event was conceived by His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Vasanth Gurudev, Sri Parshwa Padmavathi Shaktipitha, Krishnagiri. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble. Thiru. M.K.STALIN, Minister for Local Administration, Tamil Nadu.

Vasantha Vizha-2009 aims at expressing peace in a creative way through painting and cultural competition.His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Vasanth Gurudev is one of India’s foremost peace ambassadors and his Vasanth Vizha was a grand affair with more than 20,000 Chennai corporation school students participated in this mammoth painting and cultural competition at the St George’s School Grounds, Poonamalle High Road, Chennai.As part of this rare gesture all the school children participated in the painting competition were provided Rs.10,000 worth of mediclaim insurance for 1 year with certificates. Prizes were distributed for outstanding performances in painting and culturals. Outstanding teachers and schools were given computers each.
International delegates Prof. Dr. Mahin King, Chair Person Prof. Dr.King Al Bouwye (President of united world for protection of children Rights (UWICR) (world Wellness woman congress), were present at the event.
It was a rare feat in Chennai with more than 150 celebrities( Prince of Arcot Nawab, Actor Radha Ravi, Actor Sarath Kumar, Actor Senthil, Actor Murali, Actor Chinni Jayanth, Actor Prasanna, Actor Prashanth, Actor Aravind samy, Film Director Perarasu, Prof. Dr. Mahin King, Chair Person (world Wellness woman congress), Prof. Dr.King Al Bouwye (President of united world for protection of children Rights (UWICR)), PR Kumar, Kumaran Silks, AR. Raihana Music Director, Mr. Sivamani ,world Percussionist., Sathish Babu , MD Univercell ) from the world of corporate, arts, literature, cinema, etc.. Around 2 lakh sq.feet of structures were recreated at St.George school ground to conduct the event and seat dignitaries, VIPs and VVIPs.
- More than 1200 volunteers were deployed to supervise the event
- 340 buses arranged to bring in the students from various places in and around Chennai
- Percussion maestro Sivamani performed with his reverberating beats to spread the
message of peace and love to inspire live painting by 20 famous paint artists
The event is the brainchild of His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Vasanth Gurudev , keeping in mind the poor health conditions of the corporation school children mostly drawn from the poorer sections of the society, has graciously decided to provide health cover to them as they cannot afford medical treatment.
Kumaran Silks, leaders in the textiles and garments industry in Tamil Nadu and a name noted for many philanthropic and public service mind ventures will be at the forefront of Vasantha Vizha 2009.

Vasantha Vizha will send strong and effective messages from thousands of young children to those forces of terror and destructors of peace that only through peaceful means that a strong foundation for everlasting development will be brought about throughout the world.
