-- Mr. Syed Iqbal Haider
A leading Lawyer of Supreme Court of Pakistan, Mr Syed Iqbal Haider has served as Attorney General Of Pakistan and Federal Minister For Law, Justice and Human Rights in Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto`s Government. He was a member of the Senate of Pakistan and a very vocal advocate of Democracy and Human Rights in Pakistan. At present Mr.Iqbal Haider is working as co-Chairperson for apex Human Rights Body in Pakistan, the Human Rights Commission Of Pakistan.
Mr. Iqbal Haider has been part of regional initiatives like People’s Saarc, Pakistan India Peoples Forum For Peace and Democracy and SAHR. He is a member of the Executive Committee of PILER.
Mr B.M. Kutty
Mr B.M. Kutty is an eminent trade union leader and activist from Pakistan. He has been active in working with the issues of labour, human rights and social transformation for over 50 years. He has played a leading role in Pakistani democratic movement as Deputy Secretary General of Movement for Restoration of Democracy. He is one of the founder members of Pakistan Institute of Labour, Education and Research (PILER), and Pakistan Peace Coalition, a network of organisations from all over Pakistan working on the issues of peace in Pakistan and internationally. He has been active in promoting understanding and good will between Pakistan and different countries, and especially with India, and is a Member of the Executive Council, Pakistan Institute of International Affairs He is a winner of the Star Peace Award
Mr B.M. Kutty is the leader of the delegation of Joint Signature Group of Pakistan in India.
Karamat Ali is the Director of PILER and an internationally renowned trade union leader and peace activist based in Karachi, Pakistan.
Ms. Shaheen Salahuddin
Ms. Shaheen Salahuddin is working with Indus News Network as Controller, News. She has been an anchor for Live Tele Programs focusing on issues of
peace and cooperation in South Asia. Indus TV was the first private Channel in Pakistan who paved the way for free media networks. Its Network provides ample space
for the cause of social Justice and Human Rights.
Mr Zulfiqar Shah
Mr Zulfiqar Shah is a journalist by profession and has a long association with students and youth organisations in Sindh. At present he is Regional Manager of South Asia Partnership Pakistan in Sindh Province. His current responsibilities provide him opportunity to interact with rural development activists in 25 districts of Sindh. Under his leadership Haris of Sindh have launched a strong movement for legal amendments to a law enacted in early fifties. He played a vital role in organising WSF 2006 in Karachi.
Ms Saeeda Diep
Winner of STAR PEACE AWARD by Association of Communal Harmony in Asia, Ms Saeeda Diep heads the Institute for Secular Studies in Lahore. She has visited India as a member of peace mission, which traveled on foot from Delhi to Multan in 2005. She has been a very active supporter for regional peace and cooperation.
Mr Punhal Sario
Mr Punhal Sario has served on high positions of Tenants movement in SINDH. Recently elected to the position of President of Porhiat ,Hari council he has sucessfully organised huge rallies of urban workers and Haris on their issues in all parts of rural sindh. He has lead the joint signature campaign in rural areas of Sindh. He has been part of progressive movements in Pakistan.
Ms Amina Zaman
Ms Amina Zaman is the head of Agency For National Development Faisalabad. Her organisation provides trainings to women volunteers in central Punjab. She has many successful campaigns for women empowerment to her credit.
Mr Abbas Ali Siddiq
Mr Abbas Ali Siddiqi has been associated with Peace movements for a long time and working with South Asia Partnership Lahore as head of advocacy unit. He was secretary for Pakistan Social Forum till December 2008.
Ms Zakia Arshad
Ms Zakia Arshad is associated with women Development Program of South Asia Partnership. She takes keen interest in promotion of peace and cooperation in Southasia.
Mr Qamar Hayat
He is Executive Director of SaharaDevelopment foundation Haripur in NWFP. His organisation runs an extensive program of rural development, promoting rural skills and Handicrafts. Sahara Development Foundation caters to training needs of industrial workers on trade union issues. He was actively involved in peace movement in this part of Pakistan.
Mr Audho Khan Malik
Mr Audho Khan Malik is associated with Actionaid Pakistan as Advocacy Manager in Sindh Zone. He is a leading figure of Pakistan Peace Coalition. He has been active in Social and cultural circles of Rural Sindh and member of Progressive Writers Association.
