Tweet-- Krishnamurti Foundation India (KFI), today announced a two-day awareness programme on "J.Krishnamurti : The Man, the Message, and You" to be held at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Mumbai on 18th-19th October, 2008, from 10am to 7 pm.
In these two days, KFI will host various activities like photo and book exhibitions on the life of J. Krishnamurti. KFI has planned these initiatives to capture the heart, mind and soul of the new generation of Indians, many of whom are totally aware of the seer who has influenced personalities like Bertand Russel, Aldous Huxley, among many other globally renowned personalities.
The two-day event will be marked by the launch of Braille editions of J. Krishnamurti books by Mr. Raman Shankar, Deputy Director, National Association for the Blind. A documentary made on J. Krishnamurti by well known film maker, Mr. G. Aravindan will also be screened at the venue.
Open interactive sessions on J. Krishnamurti's relevance to the new India will be held at the venue. Famous personalities like Jerry Rao (erstwhile CEO, Citibank] Nandan Nilenkani, [CEO, Infosys] Ranjit Hoskote, poet and KFI educators will discuss and debate the increasing relevance of Krishnamurthy's teachings in today's contemporary context.
Ashank Desai, CMD, Mastek India who was present at the press conference to announce the launch of the KFI's initiatives said, "In today's divided world humanity needs freedom from religious, political, ethnic dogmas. Krishnamurti's message of freedom, not through any organisation or ritual is indeed a timely message in today's world."
Mr. S.P. Kandaswamy, Secretary Krishnamurti Foundation India, added, "The world is evolving very rapidly today. Social, moral and economic pressures in the contemporary world leave little room for self development and spiritual solace. Allegiance to individual and religious faith is tearing the world apart. We feel that J. Krishnamurti - with his modern, spiritual and contemporary discourses, shorn of platitudes, impositions and rituals - is aptly relevant to the young generation of today's world."
J. Krishnamurti is one of the greatest philosophical and spiritual figure of the twentieth century. The aim of the programme is to spread awareness on the realization of human potential for spiritual and rational living through the teachings of J. Krishnamurti.
J. Krishnamuti believed that the education system should not merely emphasize on academic and intellectual skills but also on the understanding of the mind and heart, and the skills in the art of living. In his life span of ninety years J. Krishnamurti has traveled around the globe for nearly sixty years to spread the message of self awareness to people in different parts of the worldNotes to Editor
