The HR Leadership Award is the highest honor an individual can receive for his or her contribution to the field. The HR Leadership Award was presented to Ravi Dasgupta, Group Head, HR, at the Asia Pacific HR Congress held recently in Delhi.

RAVI C DASGUPTA Group Head, HR, Biocon Limited

Ravi C Dasgupta is the Group Head – Human Resources, Biocon Limited and oversees the corporate human resources and also mentors the HR teams of Group companies – Syngene International Limited, Clinigene International Limited and Biocon Biopharmaceuticals Private Limited. Ravi joined Biocon in January 2007 and has since focussed on strengthening the performance management process and hiring talent at mid to senior level management.

Ravi has two decades of experience in Human Resources and prior to joining Biocon, he was the Director-HR in Allergan India in 2002. Earlier Ravi was the Senior Manager – HRD at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals India Limited (1996-2000). Ravi has also worked across various industry sectors with Goodlass Nerolac Paints (1988-1992), and Crompton Greaves Ltd. (LT Switchgear Division) between 1992-1995. He was also the Corporate Manager – HRD at Apple Industries for 11 months. Over the years Ravi has gained a great deal of experience in the areas of Recruitment, Training, Performance Management, Compensation and Job Evaluation.

Ravi completed is B.Sc, specialising in Biochemistry from St. Xaviers College Ahmedabad in 1985 and his PGD( PM&IR ) from XLRI in 1988. Thereafter he completed his LLB General Degree while working in the year 1991.

During his spare time Ravi enjoys reading, rock music and road trips.
