“Hai preet jahan ki reet sada main geet wahan ke gata hoon, Bharat ka…” and so on and so forth, the applause continued into the chill of the night on a warm and not so cold audience. Sparks of words flew out into the air amidst the brilliance of fireworks that lit up the skies above time and again.

Thus, live and present among prominent men and women including Basavarajji Patil, Madhukarji Kharwadkar, P. U. Mehta, Ashok Sutrale, Sudesh Beri, 23 Talented Students, and 35 Prominent Citizens, Manoj Kumar received “The Best Artist of The Millennium Award” with flowers showing off a handsome face. A beaming understated Sunil Koli of Tennis Ball Cricket had absolutely no mean brickbats, only bouquets to hurl at those in attendance.

That night, PSES honored and presented 23 talented and 35 prominent citizens to the world of a live television, crew, viewers, public, and all, amongst casual cheer and a lively neighborhood. At the venue, a large open space near the Koli Sabhagrah, a partly seated and partly standing 3000 strong audience cheered the folk singing, folk dancing, and and folk viewing gathering. A nearby laundry reported this happening on Malad cable television, live only on request. A nearby restaurant was still brawling over what to watch when this author arrived.
