Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications & IT has brought out a Commemorating Postage Stamp on UTI, the premier financial institution of India. Commemorative Postage stamp on UTI was released by the Minister for Communications & IT, Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad in the presence of distinguished guests and dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister lauded UTI on its astounding success in imparting financial education to adopt modern methods of investment. Towards this end, UTI launched the first mutual fund of India in 1964 which proved to be widely popular among small investors. The Minister further observed that financial inclusion is the buzz word and it offers tremendous opportunity waiting to be explored and tapped by financial institutions.

4. The Minister also spoke at length about the major initiatives of his government such as the MyGov portal, which is being extensively used for inviting suggestions from people on various issues. Digital India is the topmost priority of the government which wants to digitally connect all the villages of the country in order to make public services available online. The Minister also shared his vision of digitally enabled Common Service Centre fully operated by women.
