Mumbai, Maharashtra, May 5, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- Quantum Mutual Fund, India's 1st direct to investor mutual fund has announced the appointment of Jimmy A Patel as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Mr. Patel has close to 20 years of experience in the financial services sector, and has been credited for his contributions in key management roles in the industry.

Along with holding a Chartered Accountant's degree, Mr. Patel has also completed his L.L.B. from the University of Mumbai.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Patel said, "I am delighted to join Quantum Mutual Fund, and am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. As the country's first direct to investor mutual fund we have always focussed on the investor, selling our funds directly through the retail channel. Going ahead, we intend to deepen this focus."

Expressing his views on the Quantum philosophy, Ajit Dayal, Chairman, Quantum Mutual Fund, said, "Quantum Mutual Fund has been the first - and only - mutual fund that has refused to pay distributor commissions. Since inception, we have always worked for the benefit of our investors and have consciously kept away from opaque distributor channels that charged undisclosed commissions. At a time where other mutual funds are busy fighting to find ways to pay commissions to distributors, Quantum continues to work for the interest of the investor."
