NMIMS Launches New Programs To Cope Up With Need Of Growing Pharma Industry
Considering the growth in the Indian pharmaceuticals industries at international level and growing need of qualified human resources in the area of Drug Regulatory Activities, Pharma Marketing, Analytical, Quality Control, Pharm Microbiology and Bioinformatics, School of Pharmace & Technology Management of NMIMS University, Mumbai has launched One Year Full Time Diploma Programs in Drug Regulatory Affairs (PGDRA), P G Diploma in Pharmaceuticals Marketing(PGDPM) and Two Year Full Time M.Sc. Program in Applied Pharm Analysis / Applied Pharm Bioinformatics and Applied Pharm Microbiology.

Similarly, to fulfill the needs of the Pharma Industry with particular reference to skilled manpower in areas like Analytical, Quality Control, Pharm Microbiology and Bioinformatics, SPTM has launched a Two Year Full Time M.Sc. Program in Applied Pharm Analysis / Applied Pharm Bioinformatics and Applied Pharm Microbiology.
Details of the programs are as below:

One Year Full Time P G Diploma in Drug Regulatory Affairs (PGDRA) And
P G Diploma in Pharmaceutical Marketing (PGDPM)
Objective: Considering the growth in the pharmaceutical industries at international level, Drug regulatory activities are being prioritized to cater to the needs of pharma global competition. India as a developing country has to look into HR expertise to address the issues related to drug laws and guidelines of regulatory agencies of various countries. Currently there is no such attempt to cater to the need of pharma industries.
Eligibility: B.Pharm./ M.Pharm. with a minimum 55% marks.
Selection Procedure: Based on performance in Admission Test and Personal Interview to be held at NMIMS, Mumbai
Application Procedure: Applications forms are available and can be acquired from the Accounts Office NMIMS, Mumbai on payment of Rs. 950/- (non – refundable) in person or by sending a DD of Rs. 1050/- (non – refundable, inclusive of courier charges) favoring SVKM’s NMIMS, payable at Mumbai with a self addressed cloth envelope of size 10 “ X 13” .

Pedagogy: The courses will be based on need based practice and interaction with pharma industries/regulatory agencies. It will train the students to address the HR requirement of pharma industries.Unique features of the programme: The programme will develop analytical mind, scientific thinking and skills required for drug regulatory affairs and pharma marketing. Case studies, interaction with experienced professionals and field/professional experience in the field shall be the strength of the curriculum
Programme structure: One year- Three trimesters out of which two trimesters by theory and one trimester by project work.

Two Year Full Time M.Sc Programme In Applied Pharm Analysis/ Applied Pharm Bioinformatics/ Applied Pharm Microbiology
School of Pharmacy & Technology Management (SPTM) of SVKM’s NMIMS University has designed a unique MSc programme with specialization in Applied Pharm Analysis/ Applied Pharm Bioinformatics /Applied Pharm Microbiology
Objective: This MSc programme has been prepared taking into consideration the needs of the Pharmaceutical industry with particular reference to skilled manpower in areas like Analytical, Quality Control, Pharm Microbiology and Bioinformatics. Currently the post graduate courses in Science stream face difficulty in placement and employability due to lack of Pharma industry specific skills.
Eligibility: B.Sc/M.Sc with Chemistry/Microbiology or Biotechnology (as a major subject) or B.Pharm with a minimum of 55% marks. Students with Pharmaceutical Industry experience shall be preferred

Unique features of the Programme: The programme will inculcate technical attitude and skills required for Applied Pharm Analysis, Applied Pharm Bioinformatics and Applied Pharm Microbiology through electives and industrial project for thesis in the final semester. Case studies at all levels and hands on training with all the analytical tools shall be the strength of the curriculum.
Programme structure: Two Years. Three semesters by papers and one semester by project work/ dissertation in Industry
