Maersk India inaugurates state-of-the-art Container Freight Station at Ponneri, Chennai
Maersk India inaugurated its state-of-the-art Container Freight Station at Ponneri, Chennai, close to the Ennore port on Dec 2, 2009. The facility will provide storage & stripping of laden import container and consolidation of export cargo. It also has a warehousing capacity of 3000 sq m with over 6000 sq m of dedicated trailer parking facility.

Rajan, Commissioner of Customs Imports, Mr. Naresh Penumaka, Commissioner of Customs Exports and Mr. Michael Lund Hansen, Asia Director, A.P. Moller - Maersk, along with Maersk CFS' key customers and business partners.
The new CFS is a state-of-the-art facility spread across 30 acres with the first phase of operations in 12 acres.
The new CFS is CTPAT security compliant and fully equipped with modern, owned equipment. The facility is open for use by all Container Shipping Lines, Customs House Agents and Cargo Owners.
