GTI chosen "Container Terminal Of The Year" at India International Maritime & Logistics Expo 09
Adding yet another feather to its cap, Gateway Terminals India, the youngest port terminal at Nhava Sheva, accepted the coveted "Container Terminal Of The Year" award at the India International Maritime & Logistics Expo '09 (IIMLE).
Tweet-- The IIML awards, known as Samudra Manthan (churning of the sea), was presented to GTI for its excellence in performance, innovation, operational efficiency and world class container terminal infrastructure.
GTI CEO, Mr. Arvind Bhatnagar received the award from Mr. M A Bhaskarachar, Deputy Chairman, Kandla Port Trust and Mr. Vijay Kalantri, Director, All India Association of Industries.
The winners of the awards were recognized by eminent jury comprising Mrs. Sheila Bhide and CMD ITPO and Mr. D.T. Joseph, Advisor, Former Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways.
Commenting on the award, Mr. Bhatnagar said “The award is in recognition of GTI’s landmark achievements and its continuous endeavor to excel in operations and service. This exemplary achievement comes as an exception amid talk of global meltdown and its impact on logistics sector. GTI has achieved stellar growth by providing value-added solutions, augmenting infrastructure and continuing to expand capacity thus broadening it’s offerings across the entire customer base”, he said.
