Indian launch of Ian Macleod's Scotch at Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon
Glengoyne, Smokehead Islay Single Malt and Robert-II Blenders introduced to Scotch lovers in India
Tweet-- Ian Macleod, one of the largest and most respected names in the spirit industry has finally come to India. In a gala launch at Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon, the company unveiled three of its most popular brands, Glengoyne, Smokehead Islay Single Malt and Robert-II Blenders Scotch Whisky.
The exceptionally smooth scotch range was launched by Mr. Jonathan Scott, Area Director (Asia) of Ian Macleod Distillers India Pvt. Ltd in the presence of R.V. Subramanian, Director of Ian Macleod, Jatin Virmani, CEO, Veekay- Spirits Unlimited and Mr. Matthew Cooper, General Manager, Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon.
Speaking about the launch, Mr. Matthew Cooper, General Manager of Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon said, "It is a sheer pleasure for us to be associated with Ian Macleod. Glengoyne, their award winning single malt Scotch whisky is going to be launched in three different age levels to suit a variety of palette. There is Glenoyen, aged 10 years using air dried barley to give a more subtle, complex whisky in which all of the delicate flavors are freely allowed to express themselves. Glengoyne aged 17 years, carries a distinctive style and is more concentrated, but has a well balanced palette of flavors and finally Glengoyne aged 21 years, sees another four years in the cask which helps it achieve the optimum balance of flavors and the maximum benefit from the wood.
Another whisky of Ian Macleod that was launched was Smokehead that appeals to a more younger palate. Often described as 'A Whisky For Today' it's a modern approach to traditional cocktails like Bothy which is made of Smokehead, hot cider and sugar syrup. The King Robert II Blenders scotch, which too was unveiled, has a long and complex finish with a creamy and warming fruity palate and a sweet vanilla toffee nose.
