HICSA has always been coveted by industry leaders as the most invigorating and intellectually stimulating conference that continues to bring focus to current hospitality trends.
In addition to its key sessions and key note speakers, this year the first ever “Hotels of the Year Awards – 2009” are being introduced at the conference. These awards have been instituted to acknowledge outstanding new hotel developments in the last one year in the South Asian region. The awards have been conferred upon for two main categories: Best Luxury / Upscale Hotel and the Best Mid Market / Budget Hotel. Based on the HVS knowledge and understanding of the upcoming hotels in the South Asian region, various Hotels and Serviced Apartments that opened between July 2007 - November 2008 have nominated themselves based on certain criterion. A total of 21 hotels have been nominated for Budget / Mid Market segment and 8 hotels for Luxury / Upscale Market segment.
HVS has consistently conceptualized and pursued the best possible practices covering the hotel industry to analyze past trends and predict the correct medium towards the long-term future of the Indian hospitality sector. The idea behind conducting HICSA constantly for the past 5 years is to encounter the loopholes and setbacks being faced by the industry.
