5FM Springbreak At Sun City
It's a wave thing!!!
Tweet-- Escape to Sun City for 5FM Springbreak and enjoy the extreme pace, the sublime sounds, and silky textures of summer. Don’t miss this year’s hottest party which kicks off on 24 September and continues until Sunday 28 September. Make a plan to get there.
5FM DJ's will be burning up the airwaves at the Valley of Waves at Sun City with LIVE broadcasts. Catch Sasha Martinengo's Bigger Brunch and the Grant and Anele show broadcasting live from Tuesday until Friday.
The Valley of Waves will be jam-packed with all sorts of activities including skateboarding, inline skating, wake boarding, parachuting, fashion shows and beach bashes. As if that's not enough there will be tubing, swimming, spine-tingling water-rides, beach volleyball, Bungee Bounce and rock climbing. And for the kids there’s Kamp Kwena and loads of competitions throughout the week.
Live it up at the Valley of Waves where the Jagermeister flows like water. This Springbreak you can enjoy an avalanche of beverage promos from Millers, Skelter Straight, Po-10-c & Tang.
On Friday night there’s a Power of 5 Party! 5FM DJ’s Erica Elle, Sasha Martinengo and Grant & Anele will be ripping up the decks, so make sure you’re there. And on Saturday we experience 12 Unforgettable hours of 5FM broadcasting LIVE from 10am until 10pm! It’s one phenomenal show after the other, ranging from TRL Radio with Poppy Ntshongwana, to The Rob Vember show and then the sizzling Beach Party gets underway from 5pm with LIVE to the power of 5 with Catherine and then the Saturday Surgery with Roger Goode.
Get on board with Skelter Straight – they’re giving away a motorbike valued at R100 000 this Spring Break and Eastgate Shopping Centre are randomly handing-out shopping vouchers to party-goers. Helter Skelter, its going to be a good one!
And the fun barometer doesn’t stop there! The slick Stimirol Slip ‘n Slide is possibly the most fun you’ll have all summer and the Liqui-Fruit Beach Volleyball is a great way to tone-up. Beach volleyball draws huge crowds because of the party atmosphere and bikini-clad players - the rowdier the crowd, the bigger the entertainment.
This year for the first time ever, EA Games has created a special games arcade at the Valley of Waves - taking virtual reality to a whole new level.
Local bands, One Day Remains, Koldproduk, Zebra & Giraffe, First Project and Cassette will be rocking the beach from Wednesday to Sunday
Lead vocalist and guitarist Michael Naranjo, bassist Guido Helm and drummer Jason Oosthuizen from up-and-coming band One Day Remains have been busy putting the finishing touches to their debut album, ‘Sins, Convictions, Confessions’ and have had a massive reaction to their first single ‘The Need’ with it charting on 5FM’s Hi5@5 within it’s first week of rotation! Catch them in action on Wednesday 24 September at 11h00 and 15h30.
Koldproduk is one of South Africa’s hottest new Urban Hip Hop groups and you can see them live at Spring Break on Thursday 25 September at 11h00 and again at 15h30. Koldproduk is slick, their material is world-class and their image is super cool. They’re here to stay; with music that is fresh and funky; with an image that is hip and cool; and best of all, it’s African and proudly so.
Zebra & Giraffe is the name of a powerful musical force impacting on the youthful radio listening audience. Greg Carlin is Zebra & Giraffe and fans can hear him play his own special music on Friday 26 September at 11h00 and 15h30.
By using only drums to create what can simply be described as ‘Aggressive Percussion’ First Project has made their mark on the local entertainment scene. Their style of music is completely original and the varied elements of Rock, House, African and Latin rhythms create a pure primal energy. Feel the earth move on Saturday 27 September when 1st Project Performs during Catherine’s Show between 17h00 and 18h00.
5FM Springbreak is going out with a bang this year with the smash hit group, Cassette. Cassette has garnered 5 major national hits locally from their first album including Tracy, Beautiful Smile, Sometimes and their current smash hit, AI. They have produced three music videos in the past year, two of which have occupied the number one spot on MK89’s music video charts, and all three have had national play listing on television across all channels and the video for ‘Sometimes’ reached the number one spot on MTV Base. Watch this super group rip up the boards on Sunday 28 September at 11h00 and 15h30. What a way to end Springbreak!!!!
