GE Locates its First Solution Centre in Chengdu Tianfu Software Park

Chengdu China, June 9th, 2010. GE, an American multinational conglomerate corporation in US, the world's largest company, signed an MOU with Chengdu government in Chengdu's day of Expo 2010 Shanghai, formally announced that its first solution centre will locate in Chengdu Tianfu Software Park, the biggest software park in China with total construction area 1.1 million Square Meters. As GE's regional headquarter in China, the centre will integrate multiple businesses together, to provide customers with one-stop services.

Chengdu, Sichuan, June 13, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- GE, an American multinational conglomerate corporation in US, the world's largest company, signed an MOU with Chengdu government in Chengdu's day of Expo 2010 Shanghai, formally announced that its first solution centre will locate in Chengdu Tianfu Software Park, the biggest software park in China with total construction area 1.1 million Square Meters. As GE's regional headquarter in China, the centre will integrate multiple businesses together, to provide customers with one-stop services.

"The centre will not only become GE's regional hub of training, sales &marketing, products & application, exhibition, after-sale service and purchasing, but also will become GE's financial shared service platform for GE's all Groups in Asia-Pacific." According to the MOU with Chengdu government, Chengdu will be GE's strategic base in Western China for business expansion, the cooperation with Chengdu government covers transportation, health care, new energy, finance, and SME development, also covers the fields including smart grid, water treatment and environmental protection.

Chengdu, one of the most important cities in China, has gain rapid development since the "Great Western Development Strategy" launched in 2000, Chengdu largely benefited from this program with new large scale investments in infrastructure, education and healthcare and others. Since 2008, a large number of international companies, to further cut costs during the financial crisis, have implanted their back-offices or development centers to Chengdu taking advantage of the large talent pool, lower operational costs, as well as vast business expansion. "Chengdu has become a top investment destination in China", pointed out by American Chamber of Commerce, which released on the 2010 white paper of "American Business in China" recently.
