Bartercard have recently announced their association with Idea Spice and Content Syndicate to boost their presence in the UAE and the Gulf. Idea Spice will conceptualize cutting-edge creative campaigns and Content Syndicate will provide media services and function as a communication arm.
According to Fadi Dabbagh, Managing Director, Bartercard UAE, “We want to raise our profile and enhance awareness of our network and that’s where Idea Spice and Content Syndicate together come into play. Both are agencies with an innovative approach and creative acumen and we look forward to working together.”
Bartercard is a unique service network that is not funded on a cash basis but through goods and services exchanged or bartered with other Bartercard members. Unlike traditional credit, debit cards or cheques, a Bartercard transaction requires member businesses to exchange goods and services with each other for ‘Trade Dirhams’. These Trade Dirhams are credited to the member’s Bartercard account when goods or services are exchanged. Members can then utilize their Bartercard Trade Dirhams to purchase goods and services from any other Bartercard member.
Bartercard’s current members trade billions of trade dollars every year. Bartercard UAE is the regional centre of operations of Bartercard and supports operations in other Middle East countries where Bartercard currently has a presence.
Sajith Ansar, Managing Director, Idea Spice remarked, “We are delighted to work together with Bartercard in furthering their regional endeavours by contributing with unique and innovative campaigns.”
Maddy Reddy, CEO & Founder, Content Syndicate commented, “We are pleased to collaborate with Bartercard to elevate their regional market presence and expansion initiatives. Furthermore, as members, we can help other Bartercard members in promoting their products and services effectively by taking an integrated approach, online and offline, through our content services.”
Dabbagh added, “Our members save valuable cash flow and boost their profitability by taking advantage of the Bartercard network. Our focus for this year is to expand beyond Dubai and we are in the middle of considering franchises forthe other emirates - Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and beyond. Our expansion drive will also roll out to a few other countries in the Middle East and Bartercard UAE will be the base to propel our involvement. The synergy between Content Syndicate and Idea Spice to strategically increase our presence will certainly play a significant role in advancing our objectives for this year.”
Conceptualised in Australia in 1991, Bartercard’s unique approach has been successfully marketed to UK, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, USA, Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt, Cyprus, Qatar, Turkey and the UAE.
