NASSCOM accolade for IBS

Leading IT systems provider to the travel, transportation and logistics industries, IBS Software, has been listed by NASSCOM as one of the top IT Innovators in India.

Trivandrum, kerala, April 8, 2010 /India PRwire/ -- Leading IT systems provider to the travel, transportation and logistics industries, IBS Software, has been listed by NASSCOM as one of the top IT Innovators in India. The premier trade body in the country for IT and BPO, NASSCOM, has included IBS in its compilation of the top 50 Innovations in the IT-BPO sector in India for the year 2009. IBS was nominated in the category "Market facing innovation," for its product Road Safety Management System (RSMS), an accident database management system that redefines the way road accident data is managed. Set against the background of an alarming increase in accidents and the fatalities on Indian road, several state governments are turning to technology to improve the functioning of their Transport, PWD and Police (traffic) departments. RSMS, implemented by certain State Governments, is the only proven web-based solution in its category designed for large-scale accident data system implementations for planning, managing & controlling accident data. UK-based Transport Research Laboratory (TRL), a world leader in independent research and consultancy for surface transportation, has recently entered into an MoU with IBS to develop technology solutions to improve safety and efficiency of road transport through gathering traffic data and utilizing it in traffic enforcement and surveillance.

This initiative by NASSCOM is to recognize and showcase the top innovations in the industry, as also an attempt to encourage innovative IT practices that challenge the traditional "cheap offshore service" tag often associated with IT in India.
