ZTE Wins Unitech Wireless' GSM Network Infrastructure and Maintenance Contract in India
Company to Supply Unitech Wireless with Equipments to Establish and Maintain GSM Infrastructure Across Key Metro Circles and Cities

Under the agreement, ZTE will provide GSM systems and core network equipment for a period of 5 yearsacross the circles of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, andHaryana. With this contract, ZTE hasadded a significant win to the growing list of telecom service providersdeploying its GSM solutions in India.
Unitech Wireless, ajoint venture between Norway’s Telenor Group and Unitech Group of India, holdsthe license to provide mobile phoneservices across all 22-telecom circles in India. The company is planning toroll-out services in select circles by the end of 2009 under the brand nameUninor.

The GSM equipmentfrom ZTE will allow Unitech Wireless to evolve its network infrastructure as required, thereby helping reduce network evolution cost,lower TCO and continuously enhance profitability.
ZTE’s GSM equipment is now deployed by over 60operators in more than 50 countries worldwide, resulting in the installation ofmobile capacity exceeding 200 million lines. In India, ZTE has experienced significant growth havingalready won infrastructure and network equipments contracts from severaloperators.
Currently, the companyhas applied for over 3,000 GSM patents and is a pioneering member of manyinternational standards organizations such as ETSI, 3GPP and GSA.
