eRevolution2009 in Chandigarh on September 3-4

The mega IT event, 5th in the series, eRevolution2009 shall be held at Chandigarh on 3rd and 4th September 2009 at Hotel Taj. The event is being spearheaded by the Chandigarh Administration and the Government of Panjab along with STPI, Nasscom, Indian Angels Network, and The Indus Entrepreneurs.

Chandigarh, UT, August 25, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- The 5th mega IT conclave for promoting Chandigarh, Punjab, and Haryana as an IT industry and entrepreneurship hub, eRevolution 2009, will be held in Chandigarh at Hotel Taj on 3rd and 4th September 2009.

The Governor of Punjab and Administrator UT, Chandigarh, shall inaugurate the event which shall see participation of some of the leading business icons including Mr Sunil K Munjal, MD, Hero Cycles Ltd;Mr RakeshBharti Mittal, vice chairman, Bharti Airtel; Mr. Som Mittal, President, Nasscom; Mr. Pramod Bhasin, Chairman Nasscom and President & CEO, Genpact India; Mr. Saurabh Srivastava, Chairman, TiE/Indian Angel Network/ Nasscom Foundation and Chairman Emeritus XANSA, besides many others.

eRevolution 2009 the flagship forum of the Chandigarh Capital Region jointly hosted by Chandigarh Administration and the Government of Punjab along with STPI in association with Nasscom, TiE and India Angel Networks.

“Transforming Region: Harnessing Technology for Inclusive Growth” would be the focus of the first day’s discussions led by Nasscom so as to sensitize various business segments especially small and medium enterprises in both manufacturing and services sectors which can boost the Indian economy by deploying technology so as to touch the lives of the people in the country to achieve equitable distribution of resources and an all inclusive economic growth.

The conference will also deliberate on how upcoming technologies like Cloud Computing are changing the IT industryand the opportunities they present.

The objective of eRevolution 2009is to catalyze inclusive growth through ICT-enabled solutions in healthcare, education, financial services and public services which can drive socio economic inclusion each year, faster, cheaper and more effectively than traditional models, as well as to enable the Chandigarh Capital Region to have its share of the growing market in the country.

The second day’s discussions are led by Indian Angels Network and Chandigarh-Punjab chapter of The Indus Entrepreneur (TiE), who would address the issues of start-ups and venture capital funding for the budding entrepreneurs, including a workshop on “Are you passionate about your ideas?”

Aligning BPO opportunities in the domestic market; Global Experience of Handling Entrepreneurs and Investors; Saas & Cloud Computing; case studies on EMERGE 50 companies an initiative which identified 50 emerging companies that are in the process of redefining the benchmark of excellence for the next generation of SMEs, companies succeeding in emerging/domestic markets.

This two day conference will get representatives from key sectors like education, public services, financial services and healthcare.

The growth of IT and ITES, improvement in infrastructure, enabling ecosystem for the entrepreneurs to grow, inspiring and achieving high quality higher education are the result of the through process that some of the best brains initiated in this region that has led to multi-pronged growth of the region.
