ZyXEL Showcases Green Products for Digital Home at Cebit 2009 Show
Energy-Saving Features Reduce Power Consumption without Compromising High Performance
Tweet-- ZyXEL Communications (TSE: 2391), a world leader in broadband access solutions, will introduce its green technology with a series of digital home devices including comprehensive Wireless N routers, Powerline, Network Storage Appliance, and Digital Media Adapter at Cebit 2009 in Hall 13, booth C70 from March 3to 8. The new eco-friendly products provide users more high performance, energy-saving solutions while meeting the users’ need for multimedia streaming.
Complying with the three EU directives – WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances), and EuP (Eco-Design Requirements for Energy Using Products) -- to manufacture environmentally responsible products, ZyXEL also optimizes devices such as network storage appliances, digital media adapters, and wireless routers with ENERGY STAR® qualified power adapters to help users save energy costs and protect the environment.
Featuring the unique wireless scheduler, ZyXEL 802.11n series routers, including NBG-460N, NBG-420N, NBG-417N, and NBG-419N, can be configured to turn on or off automatically, according to the user’s wireless usage pattern. Users may have the router automatically start up when they get home and shut off when they go to sleep. Using this customized and intelligent energy-saving benefit, the routers can save energy consumption and associated cost when not in use.
ZyXEL has also broadened its energy-saving technology to include the Powerline Adapter. Compared to previous generation’s powerline adapters, ZyXEL’s new generation PLA-401 reduces power consumption more than16 percent. In addition, when the Ethernet link is plug-off, the Powerline Adapter enters standby mode and reduces energy consumption by more than 50 percent when compared to adapters without this function.
