Essen RFID's XtennaTM to deliver RFID hardware at Nasscom's "India Leadership Forum" to be held in Mumbai from 11-13 Feb, 2009

"XtennaTM" shall track over 2,000 visiting dignitaries from across the globe attending the Nasscom India summit.

Mumbai, Maharashtra, February 5, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- Essen RFID, one of India’s leading RFID OEM provider headquartered in Mumbai today announced that it shall be delivering RFID hardware solution at the forthcoming Nasscom’s “India Leadership Forum” scheduled to take place at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai from 11-13 Feb 2009.

The RFID hardware solution encompasses tracking the visiting delegates to the India Leadership Forum. Most of the delegates attending the summit shall be provided with a Delegate Entry Badge that shall contain an embedded RFID tag. When the delegate enters any of the entry gates to the main venue of the event, XtennaTM shall pick up the tag signal & read it thereby identifying the unique identity of the visiting delegate.

Essen which launched its RFID device “XtennaTM” last year in April has also announced that it is hosting the first ever “India RFID Solutions Pavilion” in partnership with RFID Journal at Orlando, USA from April 27-29, 2009 bringing together India’s leading RFID solutions providers under one umbrella. The India RFID Solutions Pavilion would be spread across 3,600 sq.ft area & shall house the participants representing the India RFID landscape.

Essen’s XtennaTM covers RFID bands across the EU, USA, China, Korea & India through models that operate in the 865-870 MHz, 902-928 MHz, 840–844 MHz, spectrum respectively. Its advanced RFID reader has dynamic multi-protocol capability that is fully compliant with future standards. Along with superior tag reading performance (upto 40 feet) that not only supports Dense Reader Mode but also overcomes multiple sources of signal interference.

One of the Unique Selling Proposition is its ability to be also used in remote locations and over long distances without signal deterioration. By using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) for transmission and converting sensitive analog RF signals to digital at source, XtennaTM eliminates any scope of loss or deterioration during data transmission.

XtennaTM’s advantage over an ordinary RF cable is multifold. XtennaTM requires an inexpensive CAT-6 cable that can carry 48V DC power simultaneously along with data. Unlike the RF cable’s sensitive analog signal, XtennaTM provides a stable digital transmission. Moreover, RF cable has a limited distance of upto 20 ft before signal deterioration. With XtennaTM, this is offset as the distance between XtennaTM & PoE switch can now be enhanced to 330ft without loss.

Essen has a patent pending with the US & Indian Patent Offices. Essen has partnered with some of the leading players both in India as well as global firms operating in the RFID applications space.

Essen’s XtennaTM is available in two versions namely a Pilot Project Kit & a Mini-pilot project kit & is available directly through Essen Mumbai or through its list of global affiliates spread across US & EU.
