Ramkumar Subramanian Appointed As Sales and Marketing Vice President For AMD India

AMD veteran returns to India to lead the company's relationships with customers, partners, government and education

Bangalore, Karnataka, September 12, 2008 /India PRwire/ -- AMD (NYSE: AMD), today announced the appointment of Ramkumar Subramanian as, sales and marketing vice president for India and SAARC region. Ramkumar will be based in Bangalore and report to Ian Williams, AMD’s corporate vice president for the Asia-Pacific region. His responsibilities include collaborating with AMD India’s managing director, Dasaradha Gude, to drive AMD’s aggressive growth plans for the region and strengthening the company’s relationships with customers, partners, government and education audiences.

Ramkumar has more than 12 years of engineering and corporate development experience in varied positions at AMD. Ramkumar previously was a senior member of the Technology Development Group. Most recently, he was director of corporate development, responsible for initiatives in China, Brazil and Russia.

“Ramkumar has consistently demonstrated a proven track record of business skills in emerging markets such as China and Brazil,” said Ian Williams. “He is uniquely qualified to steer AMD India during this next, very significant phase of expansion.”

An accomplished engineer, Ramkumar is an inventor of more than one hundred of AMD’s patents and pending applications in semiconductor process technology.

Ramkumar holds a PhD in chemical engineering from Michigan State University, an MBA from Duke University and an undergraduate degree from Regional Engineering College, Tiruchirapalli.
