Ltd.) announces the availability of Optio S10 in the market - the newest addition to the “Optio S” series of highly acclaimed compact digital cameras. Packed in an ultra-compact aluminium alloy design that the “Optio S” series is so well known for, the Optio S10 features 10.0 effective mega pixel resolutions as well as Digital SR (Shake Reduction) and Face Recognition AF & AE.

The Optio S10 advanced point-and-shoot digital camera captures professional-looking pictures with minimal settings so everyone will feel comfortable using the camera. It eliminates complex adjustments so users can take great pictures easily and instantaneously, with just a touch of a button. The Optio S10 new camera delivers clear and crisp photos even when images are enlarged to A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inch) size.

The Optio S10 offers Face Recognition AF&AE” function typically found in much more expensive digital cameras, which helps automatically detect and focus on faces in the image area. The Optio S10 also comes with new functions as part of face recognition feature i.e.“Natural Skin Tone” mode, which smoothly presents skin texture based on the detected information and “Half-length Portrait” mode, which automatically takes a close-up photograph of the upper body of the subject by trimming the people recognized in photo frame.

Pentax Optio S10’s Auto Picture mode lets the camera automatically determine the shooting conditions for Landscape, Portrait, Night Scene, and Normal modes and chooses the optimum settings for each subject. The camera also features Digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode which reduces camera shake and blurring of the subject when photographing still images. The Optio S10’s aluminum alloy outer cover gives a sophisticated texture to the camera, and the front face with glossy spindle finish creates an elegant appearance. Despite incorporating a 3X optical zoom lens and a large 2.5 inch LCD monitor.

The Optio S10 is one of the smallest and the lightest 10.0 mega pixel digital compact cameras on the market. With 10.0 effective mega pixel resolution, the Optio S10 delivers clear and crisp photos even when images are enlarged to A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inch) size. A large 1/1.8 inch CCD with large sensing area is used for the image sensor, providing excellent performance for tone reproduction, texture delineation and noise reduction.
