Impetus Technologies (www.impetus.com), the pioneers in outsourced product development and engineering services today celebrated technology in an ‘un-conference’ mode. The company hosted the very exciting and renowned technology unconference, BarCamp in Delhi once again, at its Noida campus.

The event saw more than 200 technology experts with their insatiable desire of learning and sharing their knowledge with others, from across the country and a variety of organizations such as Amazon, Sun Microsystems, Opera Software, and a lot of entrepreneurial startups. People from all walks of life, like technology professionals, startup entrepreneurs, investors, media persons, bloggers etc. attended the Camp. It witnessed some really interesting sessions on emerging and contemporary topics like Mobile Advertising, Desi Social Networking, Amazon Cloud Computing, Agile Estimation, Designing for the mobile web, Sun Startup Essentials Program etc.

According to Praveen Kankariya, CEO, Impetus Technologies, ‘We are very happy to be associated with BarCamp once again which will be a great opportunity for participants who share the same passion for technology. The best thing about the BarCamp is the informal approach where anybody can contribute their presentations, give demos, discussion common topic of interest and that is what actually draws the audience in. Infact, within Impetus we follow a similar open and inviting approach to innovation and Research. Our internal R & D department, iLabs, has also created many such informal forums that enable our own people to discuss, contribute and learn various nuances of upcoming technologies.”

A BarCamp is an unstructured and informal gathering of people who wish to discuss, share and learn various aspects of technology in an open environment. It is an intense event that witnesses discussions, demos, and interaction from participants – the focus is solely on good technical knowledge sharing. BarCamps have been happening across the globe – the first one was at Palo Alto (CA) in 2005. After that there have been BarCamps organized world over in cities like Amsterdam, Seattle, New York, Toronto, Brussels, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi etc.

Impetus hosted the BarCamp Delhi in December, 2006 for the first time. It was very successful event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants who came from all kinds of IT Services, Products and Technology companies. Impetus was also the proud host of OSS Camp, India's biggest Open Source Community Un-conference held in September, 2007.
