InfoVision 2007 to broadcast conference lectures on mobile

InfoVision 2007 has created its own mobile social network using the CellSerf mobile application. The InfoVision 2007 Mobile Community will enable participants to share and collaborate in unique ways. Since the community is accessible over the mobile phone, this interaction can happen in real time even during the conference.

Mysore, Karnataka, December 6, 2007 /India PRwire/ -- InfoVision 2007 has put up an exciting programme for the conference being held at the Maratha, Mumbai, on December, 17-18.

Organized by International School of Information Management (ISiM) and Rediff.com, this is the third InfoVision Conference after very successful meets in 2005 and 2006. Limited registrations are available online at www.infovision.org.in till the seats last.

Apart from the dazzling array of speakers, one of the highlights this year is that InfoVision 2007 has created its own mobile social network using the CellSerf mobile application. The InfoVision 2007 Mobile Community, described here www.infovision.org.in/2007/topic/cellserf.html, will enable participants to share and collaborate in unique ways. Since the community is accessible over the mobile phone, this interaction can happen in real time even during the conference.

The CellSerf mobile application allows the sharing of multimedia content between users in almost real time. Delegates will be able to exchange video, voice, picture and text messages with the conference community. With the application it is also possible to connect to IM on yahoo, google and MSN, send and receive emails and send and receive multimedia messages.

To join the mobile community all a delegate needs to do is install the CellSerf application on the mobile handset. To install one can go to http://www.cellserf.com/iv from the mobile handset. Alternately it can be downloaded (from www.cellserf.com/download_iv.html) to a computer first and then installed.

Using the InfoVision 2007 Mobile Community a lot of interesting and useful activities are planned. These include serving conference updates on the mobile phones of the delegates before and during the conference and serving video feeds of lectures during the conference. The application will even be used for asking questions. The questions will be made visible to the speaker even as he is speaking. The application will also be used for information sharing among the delegates. For example, local delegates can share tips on local restaurants and sights with the foreign delegates using the application. Pictures, voice clips and video clips can all be shared among the participants.

This is the first time the concept of a mobile community has been implemented anywhere in the world. InfoVision in keeping with its innovative character and this year’s theme is making this cutting edge technology from CellSerf available to its delegates so that the conference can be made an even more enriching experience.
