NIIT Technologies Limited, the global IT Solutions organisation, strengthened its European management team with the appointment of two Senior Vice Presidents to head its UK and Continental Europe IT solutions business, respectively.

Ravi Shankar Pandey was appointed as the UK Business Unit head this month and would be based in London. Ravi joins from ITC Infotech Limited, where he was Vice President for business development in Europe where he played a vital role in the expansion of business and sales channel. He has experience in managing, consulting and technology services both in the UK and the international markets.

Commenting on his appointment Ravi said, “I am excited to contribute towards NIIT Technologies’ growing presence within the UK market and looking forward to developing and expanding the company’s IT solutions offerings and customer base.”

Earlier in January 2007, NIIT Technologies moved Pramod Srivastava to Stuttgart as the Head of its Continental Europe operations. Besides running operations in the Continent he would also serve as the Vorstand for its German subsidiary NIIT Technologies, AG. Pramod brings onboard experience in various executive and managerial positions in leading institutions like EDS, TCS and Cognizant. Prior to joining NIIT Technologies, Pramod was responsible for business development and delivery of Banking and Financial Services solutions across Europe at Cognizant Technologies Ltd.

Commenting on his role Pramod said: “The Continent is an exciting market and different from traditional key markets for the offshoring services like the USA and UK. My effort will be to build on NIIT Technologies’ established strengths in the Benelux and DACH region and expand its presence in the continent”.

Speaking on the appointment, Arvind Thakur, CEO of NIIT Technologies said, “Europe is a large and under penetrated market for the off shoring services. Only 25% of the Indian IT industry exports are derived from this market with a major share from the UK. With Ravi and Pramod joining the team, we would be able to bring focus in equal measure to our business on both sides of the channel”. Currently NIIT Technologies derives close to 48% of its revenue from the Europe.
