Knee joint pain caused due to accidents or old age can now be treated successfully using modern, but scientifically proven, medical procedures, said well-known Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Narendra Vaidya, during the seminar. Dr. Vaidya was speaking at a seminar on the subject 'Knee Joint Pain and Advanced Treatment', organized by the General Practitioners' Association, Pune at Hotel President recently. The seminar was attended by President of the association Dr. Nitin Zankar, Hon. Secretaries Sunil Paigude, Dr. Vilas Takane, Past President Dr. Prasad Ambikar, Director of Lokmanya Hospital Shailesh Niyogi, besides 100 other doctors. Dr. Narendra Vaidya gave information about laser, nucleoplasty and coblation techniques which are helpful in treating pain of knee joint, spinal and pelvis regions. He stressed the importance of surgery in appropriate cases for instant and long-lasting relief. Besides, Dr. Vaidya also answered the queries raised by the attendees. A video was shown highlighting the availability of state-of-the-art medical facilities at the Lokmanya Hospital. Among the several necessities for such surgeries like advanced equipment, modular operation theatre, hepa- filter and laminar flow are available with the Lokmanya hospital, it was informed. Dr. Vaidya has successfully treated over 25,000 accident cases. Besides he has performed over 1500 joint replacement surgeries and about 2,000 laser treatments on spinal ailments.
