Sankara Eye Care Institutions' receives "FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards 2009"
Sankara Eye Care Institutions (SECI), one of India's leading chain of super specialty and affordable eye care hospitals has been conferred the prestigious "FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award" for its' "Gift of Vision" rural outreach program.
Tweet-- Sankara Eye Care Institutions (SECI), one of India’s leading chain of super specialty and affordable eye care hospitals has been conferred the prestigious “FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award” for its’ “Gift of Vision” rural outreach program. The program was the unanimous choice of judges for the “Best Community Driven Healthcare Program” for 2009 for its sheer scale of achievement – over 5,00,000 free surgeries till date. Dr. R V Ramani, Founder and Managing Trustee of SECI received the award from Hon’ble Minister for State for Health and Family Welfare, Shri. Dinesh Trivedi and Smt. Shabna Azmi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Actor and Social Activist. This is the second recognition this year for SECI close on the heels of it winning the Asian Management Award for Excellence in Healthcare for their Comprehensive Paediatric Eye Care Program in August 2009.
The FICCI Healthcare Excellence Awards 2009 aims at recognizing organizations across India that have tried to improve healthcare services to masses; commemorate the increased efficiency and improved performance of healthcare sector and honor those who have resolved key challenges faced by Indian healthcare industry. Organized by FICCI the program is supported by Indian government’s Quality Council of India.
Receiving the prestigious award Dr. Ramani, Founder & Managing Trustee, Sankara Eye Care Institutions, said,” I dedicate the award to the dedicated team at Sankara who have tirelessly worked for the past three decades on one of India’s largest community eyecare initiatives to eradicate curable and preventable blindness.
