Starkey Hearing Foundation travels to Istanbul, Turkey; to Visit New Delhi and Agra, India in November 2008

Starkey Foundation's President, Mr. Bill Austin and his wife Mrs. Tani Austin will visit India in the second week of November 2008. Among other cities, the Foundation will visit Delhi and Agra on 18th &19th and 20th & 21st November respectively. One of the key objectives of the mission is to focus on hearing impaired children, one of the most vulnerable segments along with the aged.

Gurgaon, Haryana, November 10, 2008 /India PRwire/ -- During the second week of September, Starkey Hearing Foundation along with Starkey Turkey embarked upon a six-day mission to fit 1,634 children and adults with 3,268 new hearing instruments. In attendance at the hearing mission were Turkish VIPs, celebrities and numerous appearances by famous Turkish stars such as rock star Ozgun and movie stars Ekrem Bora, Yasemin Hadivent and Filiz Akin. Filiz Akin, founder of the Filiz Akin Foundation, is a close supporter of SHF and played a key role in raising awareness for this mission. This hearing mission to Istanbul was funded by the generous support of Alfred and Claude Mann, winners of the 2008 Starkey Awards Gala bid for this mission.
