Dr. Mishra is elected as a member of more that 20 organizations all over the world. Dr. Mishra is an active member of Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He is Indian President and life member of World Association of Laparoscopic surgeons. In 2001, Dr. Mishra felt that Laparoscopy as a science was undergoing profound changes, switching from the industrial era into that of the information era. In this context, he established Laparoscopy Hospital, dedicated to improving the status of Minimal Access Surgery. The idea was to create a centre where healthcare professionals, surgeons, researchers, engineers and computer scientists could combine their energies in a dedicated and dynamic institute. Such a centre did not exist in Asia. The reputation of Laparoscopy Hospital places this unique institute among the top laparoscopic training facilities in the world.
