Dettol donates Antiseptic Liquid and Soaps to Flood Hit Bihar

Dettol, under its Dettol Surakshit Parivar Program, today announced flood relief initiative in the form of free donation of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid and Dettol Soaps to the flood affected people of the state of Bihar. This joint operation has been undertaken by Reckitt Benckiser India and Save the Children India to ensure appropriate protection to the flood affected families to help prevent against post flood infections & diseases in the devastated state. Over 40,000 pieces of Dettol Antiseptic Liquid and Dettol Soaps will be distributed free among the flood affected people. Dettol will distribute this flood relief material in partnership with leading NGO “Save the Children”. The relief material was handed over to Mr. Prabhat Kumarfrom Save The Children, by Mr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Ares Sales Manager (Bihar) Reckitt Benckiser India Ltd.
Contamination of water in an after - flood situation is one of the most common causes of water borne diseases. Untreated water can be contaminated with a wide variety of infectious organisms like bacteria, virus, protozoa and worms that lead to a plethora of water borne diseases like diarrhea, cholera, jaundice, typhoid etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Chander Mohan Sethi, Chairman and Managing Director Reckitt Benckiser India said, “Involvement of private participation in such type of a disaster will go a long way in ensuring fast relief to the affected people. I believe giving Dettol to the people will help protect them to from diseases and infections. We are committed to doing our best to helping people cope with this disaster.”
