17th Annual conference was arranged by National Heart Centre at Singapore "Singapore Live 2008" from 6th to 9th March 2008.The "BestYoung Interventional Cardiologist " award was specialy meant for Case presentation- Innovative Angioplasty technique for per moral iliac Angioplasty.

For this award, theSingapore live 2008 National Heart Centre, theworld renowned organizationinvited presentations on critical cardiology cases handled by doctors on CD or Cassets. From those, 46 cases were selected & for this conference theparticipation age limit was under 40 years of age.From India 3 Doctors' cases got selected & theyreceived theinvitation for the conference.Our Pune's own 32 years old Dr.Rahul Patil presented his case in front of 10 world renownedsenior cardiologist judges & 500 doctors acrossthe world. From 46 cases 9 critical cases presentationswere nominated & from that 2 winnerswere awarded.

On this occasion Dr.Rahul Patil said,'Previously some diseases needed a major surgery which was costing high due toprolonged operative, & hospitalization course. This disease is common in patients with Daibetes, High BP, Smokers'. He explained further very easily by givingthe comparisonof two treatments.With Surgery, thepatient has to payhigh cost, prolonged operative, hospitalization. Thepatient gets discharge after 10 days & gets more than 20 stitches in surgery.

Whereas in Angioplasty- no stiches, patient gets discharge in 2 days.Thereistime saving and cost saving on hospitalization. Hegets recovered faster, there is no fear of surgery, so thepatient is in very stable mindset.

Further he shared his thoughts about this award & his journey of success so far.This award was given to him by Prof. Dr.Koh Tian Hai, Course Director, Medical Director , National Heart Centre, The awardconsisted of Certificate & trophy. This award is given to two doctors globally. One is from India & other from Indonesia. Partcipated globally 46 cardiology specialists out of which 9 cases nominated for presentation, from that total no.of Indian participants were 3 from Pune, Mumbai, & Chennai. Other participants were from countries like China , Singapore, Indonesia, Malasia, Australia. These presentations were judged for award by 10 renowned specialists as judges from various part of the world.
