Teleradiology Solutions launches the first radiology training center 'Rad Gurukul'

Bangalore, Karnataka, March 18, 2008 /India PRwire/ -- Teleradiology Solutions, premier provider of teleradiology services, today launched ‘Rad Gurukul’ the first ever teleradiology training center in India. Located in Whitefield, Bangalore, the facility will be dedicated towards training and refining the skills of radiologists, technologists and IT personnel involved in health care IT.

The training center was inaugurated by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, CMD Biocon. The other guests of honor present at the event were Pramila Nesargi, Chairperson, Karnataka Women’s Commission and J. Parthasarathy, Director, Software Technology Parks of India. Equipped with state of the art amenities, the facility has a state of the art auditorium with videoconferencing facility, which will enable interaction with trainers and trainees from across the globe.

Inaugurating the center, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw said “Globally and in India in particular, we know that the prevalence of disease is rising alarmingly, due to changes in lifestyle and diet. Clinical trials radiology is extremely relevant to prove the efficacy, safety and affordability of any new treatment. With high-end equipment and quality infrastructure, Rad Gurukul poses as an ideal training ground for future radiologists and telemedicine experts. This learning and expertise can be leveraged to benefit society.”

“Teleradiology Solutions was among the global pioneers to recognize the importance of bridging geographical distances to provide timely diagnosis. Radiology being a niche area, we are today facing an acute shortage of qualified employable talent in India, which includes health care personnel involved in teleradiology IT, technologists and doctors trained in telemedicine. We believe that superior training can bridge this gap and help us reach our goal of establishing India as a hub for high quality teleradiology and telemedicine services.” said Dr. Arjun Kalyanpur, CEO Teleradiology Solutions.
