Beauty Care Specialist Beaubelle Explores India Market at India Franchise Expo 2008, Delhi
After strengthening its business in China, Beaubelle Worldwide Sdn Bhd is now trying to enter the brand-conscious India market to promote its complete line of beauty care products. The Malaysia-based specialist in beauty care with interests in 18 countries, plans to franchise its business in India, home to a 300 million-strong middle class with high spending power.

Its executive chairman Dr Lim Yew Keng said the company had successfully penetrated the China market and was now concentrating on South Asian countries like Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
"But now our priority is India and we are looking at the possibility of setting up a flagship outlet in India," said Lim who was attending the India Franchise Expo 2008 at New Delhi here. "India is one of the fastest growing countries in the world and with a huge population, so the potential is there," he told Bernama.
Lim, who is also the company's international marketing director, said Beaubelle, with one of the top 10 well-known brands in Malaysia, would focus on the upmarket segment in growing cities like Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai.
According to him, international brand names are increasingly popular among Indian women, who are becoming more conscious of their health and appearance.
"At one time the whole market was dominated by Chanel, which held more than 80 percent of the market share but the situation has changed now," he said.
"In recent years the Indian government has allowed the importation of foreign cosmetics and there is lot of potential for us to come in.".
The company, which made its international debut in 1993, has a complete line-up of beauty care system, from skin and body care products to spa and training in beauty care.
