Mr. Pradeep K Jaisingh, Managing Director of International Oncology is very optimistic about his company's plans in India as he says that the key differentiator for the company will be to provide the US cancer treatment expertise in India as several well known US based oncologists will be re-locating to India as a part of the team from International Oncology. The company also plans to undertake clinical trials as well as bench research activities as part of its plan in India and has earmarked an investment of over USD 50 Millions.
Cancer care in India needs to be significantly improved and there is a tremendous scope to upgrade the level of services as well as the treatment options available as there is continuous research and developments taking place in the Western world, says Mr. Jaisingh.Cancer is the second highest killer in the world and its spread in India is increasing at a very fast rate. The other major reason for the higher number of cases coming out is the improvement in the cancer detection in the country which has been historically very poor in India.
