New Delhi, Delhi, October 5, 2009 /India PRwire/ -- The Aidmatrix Foundation, Inc. recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of a partnership with the Texas Food Bank Network (TFBN)Transportation Portal Program, which enables the food banks to leverage resources and collective purchasing power to reduce their transportation costs. The program provides a single online portal for food banks to enter transportation needs that can be met by various transportation providers and donors, as a part of the Aidmatrix Network for humanitarian relief. By leveraging the buying power of the TFBN, Texas food banks using the system have seen an average reduction of $149.61 or approximately 10% per load. These savings amounted to 137,635 extra meals provided across the State. "The Texas Food Bank Network members have moved more than $11.5 million of product and have experienced substantial savings in the cost of transportation when utilizing Aidmatrix.s Texas Transportation Network. Rising transportation costs have increased the cost of providing hunger-relief to communities and people in need. Our partnership with Aidmatrix has been a great value to the Texas Food Bank Network and to the hungry people we serve," stated Barbara Anderson, State Director for the Texas Food Bank Network.

The UPS Foundation provided original sponsorship of the Aidmatrix Network®, which enabled development of the Transportation Donations Management module used by the TFBN. The UPS Foundation donated nearly $25,000 in shipments to the Texas Food Bank Network in support of 2008 disaster relief. Our work with Aidmatrix brings the efficiencies of UPS logistics management to communities in need,. said Joe Ruiz, of The UPS Foundation. .This program directly impacts Texas communities, fostering the resilience to support people and services who can benefit most. The Texas Transportation Program has produced a competitive marketplace between transportation providers. A total of 671 discounted transportation offers were offered by the transportation providers. This competitive marketplace generated more than $25,000 in savings.
